I use a XGPS160 and it does work well with HLT and iPhone. I use PLX Kiwi 2 for OBD data. Also if the event you are referring to is The Driver's Edge Sept 12-13 I'll be instructing there (#43 370z)...

If you are disappointed with the shifting, why not address that? I put on a weighted shift knob, put in Redline MT-85, and added the Z1 poly transmission mount and my shifts great.

That front bar setup is too stiff for your current setup and track conditions. Once you have more tire (wider and stickier) it will work better. Until then go softer on the front bar.
