I'd go with OEM gaskets unless the headers came with 3rd-party gaskets and they match the ports well. I try to avoid RTV on the exhaust. YMMV

FWIW, most systems nowadays will run the A/C compressor, cool the incoming air to dehumidify it, and then warm it back up before blowing it on the window(s).

It seems to me that the more rigid the mounting of the transmission (and thus the shifter), the less the shifter will move and the easier it will be to shift - the gate won't be moving around on you...
