Doesn't make a difference. Just an unnecessary hassle for you lol. Doesn't effect the durability of it. Wont cause vibrations or anything. It was just a random extra bracket to start.

It ISN'T an issue with stock cats. It only became an issue to me when we installed HFC's. If i were you, i would go ahead and cut the bracket off just so it isn't an issue in the future for whatever...
