The NST is an underdrive, so even if you don't replace the alternator pulley, you neen to replace the belt. It is better to change to alternator pulley too, just incase you dicide to put some amps in...

I installed an NST set and found the quicker throttle response well worth it. Simple install and with just a lightweight exchange you don't need a belt change, but underdrive is more responsive IMHO.
