Yes I'm running different tires front and rear right now. It is the height you need to watch for not the width.

With that inch taller rear tire remember you are effectively changing your rear end...

F: 275/40
R: 325/35

The width is fine but a whole inch taller is more than a little difference.

Guys will run a 28" tire at the drag strip, but that's only 11 seconds at a time :)
