Sure they can... except that they won't have a motor with the built internals of a GT-R. Or the factory tuning that would make it run perfectly. Or the suspension and drivetrain that makes it work so...

It is interesting, and unusual that it is being talked about at this early date. Of course the present G is well behind the curve, and is being hurt by it's competitors. It's just not as attractive...
