There is a product you can buy called Lifter...

There is a product you can buy called Lifter Free. It is an oil adittive and can be placed in your oil filler along with your oil. This will improve the knock from the lifters but wont fix the issue....

I think it comes down to why you buy the car in the first place. And for me it is a daily driver so yeah fuel economy kinda does matter. But sure, i enjoy driving it, its like being in a little go...
