No. I never got this. Both times there weren't any symptoms that I can tell, until it just died on the road.

I have something similar to what your talking about though. About 1 out of 20 times...

I believe so. I think there is a lock/pawl/ratchet that needs to be physically engaged. This is what keeps the wheels locked and keeps you from rolling when in park.

I have a 2011 7AT SP at 33K miles and it has almost the exact same problem as you described, except the grinding noise I had isn't loud, but soft and barely noticeable, and happens at around 4K RPM....
