I like it! Wish there had been just a little bit more seperation between your friend and the handlebars of the bike but I can understand why that might be hard to get just right. Lighting looks good overall but the whole image, on my calibrated monitor, is just a hair dark in exposure. Still, cool idea and great capture!

Thanks man, Totally agree about his location. I hate how his leg touches the handlebar. It was a fun shoot though, every time I flashed him while he was in the air he would fall down the steps due to him being blind lol.

I seriously need to calibrate my monitors accurately lol. At work it seems darker and at home brighter. That's a big no no haha.

Last weekend I got to shoot the two C7Z06's that I had previously posted a thread for. I also got to take some very quick photos of another friend's new GTR Nismo. Robert, the owner, received his car just a few weeks ago. It is the second GTR Nismo built for the US. Robert has only made one change the car so far, the Overtake carbon fiber GTR badge on the rear of the car (featured in one shot) which is a pretty cool piece, made out of five layers of CF. He also had an Overtake hood on order that came in the week before the shoot. He was planning to have it on the car in time for the photos but sadly it was damaged in shipping and will have to be replaced. The weather was insanely cold, dreary, and gray but we did the best we could with what little time we had left. Not really a whole lot of shots so not really worthy of a stand alone thread so here's my fav:

Just saw this and thought some of you might be interested. It looks like a very well-designed hand strap. I have one of the standard Canon straps and it really is pretty crappy to use.

I use a handstrap, I like it but I find it restrictive.

That's what interested me in this one. Looks much less restrictive.

Mine makes using the front most dial a PITA, but the security of the strap is worth it. I usually most everything at 1/160 so I don't use the dial for shutter control much, but it makes image review a serious annoyance. The strap you linked to looks pretty promising to help fix that problem.

BTW, when I switched to the 5D from the 7D, I had to adjust to the front dial to change through the images rather than the rear dial of the 7D whish made adjusting to the strap more of a pain.

Have you checked the custom functions setup? I know on the 7D you can assign different functions to the various buttons and wheels. You don't have to live with the default settings.

6spd 01-21-2015 06:23 AM

It's not controlled by custom functions unfortunately. At least though, as I failed to mention before, its the dial for skipping around images, like jumping ahead or back 10, and not the single.

Alright here are a few shots from the past few days. I am using a nikon d3200 with the standard 18-55 lens. I plan on purchasing a telephoto lens soon. For some reason i love dusk and waterfalls, those are my favorite. I am still a newbie but tell me what you think and some tips please.

This is the lens i was eye phucking today. Nikon AFS

I I was making money on photos then I would try and protect my sh!t. But this is a hobby and I can care less until I see someone making money off of it.

haven't been to active with the camera, Will be taking lots of photos this weekend at the philly auto show.. Here are some photos I took of a house that's going on the market. First time shooting a house and the bathrooms were very tricky even at 11mm (crop body), had to get really creative and squeeze into some tight spots. I have the Sigma 10-20mm which I feel is wider, however I was using my brothers 11-16mm since my other lens was being borrowed. I went in knowing I definitely needed a flash. It was challenging playing with the flash exposure and mixing with the bright ambient lighting that wasn't very consistent.

So tips to those shooting houses that haven't before. Definitely bring a flash (or more if you want to shoot off camera too), any diffuser should help spread the light, turn on all lights in the house. The majority of my shots were done at 400-800 ISO, 1/20-1/40 shutter speed, and f/5.6 (the wide angle shots)

Enjoy!
