I like the first three, but I think they would benefit greatly from some basic editing (exposure, white balance, etc)

m4a1mustang 06-18-2012 03:20 PM

I did this with a monopod on 5 second exposure in 20mph sustained wind. Not too bad. I didn't really spend much time with it so there are a few specs in there that I could have edited out. :icon17:

I don't think Kevin intended for it to be a practical road car.
--m4a1mustang

But it's on the road and what else would you do with an automobile? Hang it on the wall? Looks way too shiny to be a track car!

I think I may have been being a little of a smart aleck. I use Photoshop, but in a minimalist way -- sometimes minor exposure adjustment or cropping.

I was originally taught photography by a hard-core guy back in 1975. When we learned exposure and composition, he made us use Kodachrome and we had to present on the screen through a projector for critiques. His approach was that we needed to do everything through the lens and with slides, you cannot hide. My original 35 mm was an Argus C4 viewfinder -- it had no light meter and was a great camera and it taught me a great deal.

I sometimes think my digital cameras make me a little lazy.

Anyway, Mr. Red-Zed, I hope I did not offend you or anyone else.

Cute women think they can get away with anything. And they are right!

Started with a C3 Argus. Always shot with slide film--considered the dodge and burn with print film cheating! But I'm thoroughly spoiled by digital. Shoot as much as you want, and then throw away the bad ones at no cost! How cool is that?

But you are right about getting lazy--and I think a lot of youngsters who grew up with only digital don't ever grasp the basics of exposure and graduated filters and polarizers, etc.

Some pretty fine photography here. This is a great site for auto and camera buffs.

Photo shot on High Speed Ektachrome in 1968 in an underground bunker in Vietnam. Combat fatigue, as it was known then, being counseled by a 19-yr-old medic. F1.8 Takumar lens on a Pentax Spotmatic. Hand-held, light is a single candle (the generator was down at the time). I think that this was one of the first color photos ever made by the light of a single candle.

I can't do that kind of stuff anymore, what with the conditions of my parole, various restraining orders, etc.

It's amazing what a difference the lens corrections make.
My car looks much shorter and fatter before the lens corrections were applied. I guess the camera really does add 10lbs! :rofl2:

Looks good, you hit the eyes which is usually the goal. I need to get back into macro. Heres one with the canon 100mm macro lens

I have been debating acquiring the Canon 100 2.8L Macro for a few months and I think these images put me into buying mode.
