Default Lime Rock Photo School

I just saw the posting for the Nikon Professional School at Lime Rock later this summer. Has anyone attended before? Thumbs up? Thumbs down? I have been shooting sports and horses for a while and would like to learn about cars. Curious if this is a good first stop.

Not familiar with it, but sounds interesting. Had to post to compliment your photos. Nice stuff.

Do you know exactly what will be covered at it?

Are you looking to photograph races? Or just cars in general? I think it would be a good experience, but I personally wouldn't do it just because I feel I could just teach myself and save a good chunk of money to put towards a lens.

And yes, I do have a website if you would like to check it out. Thanks!

Your pics are amazing. I assume you're pro? Just gorgeous work.

I am new to racing and would like to learn to shoot autocross. I will probably do some studying and some test shots at a friend's race before I decide on the class. Seems to be mostly about timing and angles, which I could teach myself as well. I agree on the choice of spend :-)

never heard of it but honestly just finding a good mentor/friend that knows about what you want to learn and then learning from them is much cheaper and effective, especially if you can go out and shoot with them at the same time. also, invest in a good circular polarizer and learn what it can do to a car's reflections and how to take advantage of that. beyond that, it's just practice practice practice!

Exactly, But generally my good mentor/friend is the internet... lol. Searching through forums, pictures, articles and such for things that I like/want to learn.

that's true too^ though i learned more shooting with other seasoned photographers. do a google search and see if there's any photography groups in your area that you can get involved in. i learned in leaps and bounds when i joined a local club back in NC (when i still lived there) and stayed with them for 2 years till i moved to SC, but i still hang out with them any chance i get, especially the big trips.

If you want to learn how to shoot motorsports look online for a local pro sports shooter, get in touch with him or her and ask if you can assist them, even for free. It's the best way to learn. There are lots of pros that go to Limerock, they all need people to carry their camera LOL.
