Default Cannon T5 Rebel

Hey guys, I bought a cannon t5 rebel on Amazon with a 18-35mm lens. Can someone please tell me what lens I should buy or any other accessories that would be useful. I have absolutely no clue on what to get. This was kind of an impulse buy.

Thanks

When I was shooting pics with my Canon AE-1P, I used an 18-35, a 50, and a 70-210. A good bag/case that will safely carry your body, lenses, and other accessories is very handy (I use a Zero-Halliburton case, but that may be overkill for most people). Lens brush and a small can of compressed air to clean the lens. Zero density ND filters to put on the lenses to protect the front element from scratches. Gray cards for setting white balance. Note pad.

Thanks for the input. I will look into those items. To get rolling shots, is that in the editing or would I have to mess with shutter speed?

I'm actually on the product team at Canon USA HQ that handles the T5 and its allocation. That was the one DSLR we were allocating like crazy and with a very nice price tag to go along with it. You made a smart choice!

I haven't done any rolling shots (even if I had, it would have been with film ). There is plenty of info on how to do it with a DSLR on The Intertubes.

To be honest, learning how to use your camera will reveal to you which lenses you want to buy. I'm able to turn out great photos with just a stock 18-55 lens.

Don't overlook the importance of good glass. Seriously consider the L series lenses if you can swing the price tag.
