eastwest2300 07-30-2013 09:45 PM

Hey, DM, I'll look in to it tomorrow, I know we have some sorta section that deals with this kind of thing.

VQ370ZTT 07-30-2013 09:59 PM

Reading all of these really makes my day! I love all my genuine 370z owners watching out for each other! The best way to send a message to all the fken scammers! :)

I told him to please follow the procedure that paypal has given him to possibly speed things up

Then he replied

"Yes I know that I did that already so you have to send them back to get to get the money back*"

:shakes head:

He wish....

He must have missed the post about paypal telling you to NOT send them back

Edit: Going back through I can't find it maybe I'm going nuts?

Just read through the whole thread and I remember seeing it mentioned somewhere so you aren't crazy. That, or we are both crazy...

I've known about this tool for awhile, lots on him on TopTierImports and WinnipegHeights. He got a guy for $19k to pay back the lawsuit he lost (against MPIC - our government car insurance company), not sure how it ended. He's going back to jail, no question.

My only advice to the turbo kit 'buyer' is to bypass Paypal's buyer dispute system and go straight to your credit card (if you paid by CC). Paypal has screwed me twice dealing with scams (wasting a lot of valuable time in the process), my credit card company took care of things IMMEDIATELY on both. When discussing the case with my CC company, the person handling my claim laughed at the outright incompetence and impotence of Paypal...to truly get results, the credit card company will reverse the charges (as they have to since you were defrauded and this is part of the agreement). Ever owe a company money? They make damn sure they get it.

:bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl: call internationally?

LMBmikeZ 07-31-2013 05:06 AM

as tempting as that sounds, we would not be acting honourable to do that to her. Sure she is in the persons life and knows him, but it was not her actions that scammed/defrauded anyone :ugh2:

it's like people kid napping children or parents due to some ones actions, the victim is not the person who did anything wrong. if you want justice you do it to the adversary :tiphat:

i.e. tied, beaten and left in the field/bush

FUCK YOU CHRIS :rofl2: you have my cell you should call me, i'd love to chat :roflpuke2::roflpuke2::roflpuke2:

The people that got scammed can fight with honor... As far as I'm concerned "Fuck'em, fuck'em in the ear, fuck'em in the other ear"

He's the kidnapper and we're kidnapping his kid to apply pressure

Oh, and fixed

I know counterfeiting is you guys but I wasn't sure whether international wire fraud was you or the FBI.

Edit: Also I PM'ed him last night just to be sure he was still reading this thread and he responded :)

dmhenderson 07-31-2013 06:13 AM

Here's the number for the Winnipeg police:

204-986-6222

Call and ask for property crimes/wire fraud. Not sure if the mods are going to handle this or the OP or what. I'd honestly rather not run the show.
You guys have his address right? If no one else wants to, I can follow up with a detective this morning.

Please tell me you're NOT friends with that guy in Kitchener who has/had the large animal incinerator out in a field of one of his barns...

dmhenderson 07-31-2013 07:25 AM

Couple ground rules here if we actually want to see this through:

1) No threats of violence.

2) Don't talk to the guy anymore. We know he's reading this (which makes me happy - he gets to watch this and there's not a thing he can do about it at this point) but there's no sense in making the situation worse at this point. We have what we need to get him. Theft over $500 is a felony in the US.

3) Need someone to take point on dealing with the police or a mod. Ideally, it would be the OP. We absolutely do not need multiple people bugging the cops on the same issue. If we don't get this, we'll end up patting each other on the back and calling it a day and this guy walks away unscathed. Need to make sure this isn't dropped.

4) Owner should compile Chris' pertinent information (name, address, prior convictions, current financial transactions, copy of this thread and all his PMs) and send it to the police after speaking directly with a detective.

5) Accept the fact that the money is probably gone at this point. This guy makes a living by preying on people and immediately getting rid of the money so they can't recover it. He doesn't care if he gets sued because he'll just use the money from his next theft to pay off anyone who does manage to sue him.

6) Understand that the best way to hurt this guy is to put him in jail where he belongs. At this point, it won't even be challenging.

tl;dr: Organize, be professional and calm, hit this douche where it hurts most.

Every bit of this. With all of the vague insinuations of violence in this thread, if something does happen to this douchebag, it'll be a real **** storm around here.

I wouldn't say the money is gone for good. Paypal may do something, or the credit card company could do something. CC companies are usually pretty good about taking care of cardholders.

dmhenderson 07-31-2013 07:34 AM

Lots of people have paypal tied directly to their bank accounts. If the OP used a credit card, he'll get the money back. If he used his bank account, it's gone and paypal will not reimburse.

The bank might help him out but I doubt it.

Would like to take this opportunity to point out that you should never ever use your bank account as a primary funding source for your paypal acct.

Edit: My PM to him said "We're coming for you" - I think he thought that meant physically. Boy was he wrong :)

Yeah, very true. I didn't even think of the fact that the OP might have used a bank account for his Paypal account. Because you shouldn't do that. Ever. Never buy anything over the internet unless it's on a credit card. Period.

eastwest2300 07-31-2013 07:53 AM

Hey Darkjak I came into work this morning, and literally the first thing I read in my emails pertained to you. If you haven't all ready done so, google the Dept. of Justice's Internet Crime Complaint Center, and file a complaint there.
