Pics work fine. Great deal, great opportunity for someone wanting to build or replace an engine
|
so the low post count, you just joined? how did you come across the block? cover broke during shipping? how much does it weigh in the crate?

hey bud.... you gotta update the date on the pic... forum rules require putting "the370z" your username and the date.... the date on that pic says.... 10/23/09 thats more than 2 years ago man.... |
Honest question - what is the warranty situation for a Nissan crate engine? I am familiar with how it works with Ford and Chevy, but I don't know anyone who has purchased a brand new engine from a Japanese manufacturer. Also, will the engine be considered to have been "in service" during the time you have owned it, or will the warranty period start once its new owner fills it with oil and fires it up?

You don't need to put the370z But I bet most people would feel more comfortable with that and a more current date... And I don't think crate motors carry any warranty from Nissan unless they install it |

i don't have any current pics because it's been crated up lol... i guess i take the top off and snap a shot but it wont show anything very well someone else asked how much it weighed... it was right around 320 with the crate as best we could measure... broke the scale doing so, so it might be a bit off |

and i don't have a 370z i have a 350z... i was on here a while back when i was looking at swapping a VQ37 into my 350z... but it's just too impractical... it would cost like 10 grand just to do the swap. i love VVEL but i don't think an extra 30-40hp and VVEL are worth 10 grand |
still working on popping the top for a newer pic... but still for sale
is anyone interested in parts? if there's enough people who want parts i'll part it out |
I'm just curious, how did you acquire the engine? And just for safety purpose, if a member is going to trust you and send $4000, i think it's ONLY fair for you to post one (or more) recent pic(s) with your username and date. thanks

but yes i agree as for how i came about it. a got it from a guy who bought it at a freight auction. he paid the cost of shipping it plus the cost of the aluminum (which is to say very very cheap) and then he sold it to me for a lot more i picked it up intending to swap it into my 350z but found out pretty much as soon as i got it that it was going to cost about 10 grand i thought it cam with an intake and accessories and such, so just getting it running would cost like 5 grand... so im having to sell it i tried selling it a couple years ago when i first got it but they were so new that most people didn't need/want a brand new engine so it's been sitting in a crate for a couple years tried selling it local on craigslist and through contacts but most people want me to part out only one piece or something so i don't want to do that and then have only a partial block sitting around hopefully now that more people are building and tuning and blowing these engines up i can find someone who wants it to restore to stock or just to replace their blown engine or something i AM willing to part it out if the major components sell... like both heads and the block... its a lot less room to store a crank and rods and small stuff than it is to store this whole crate lol should have pics today though... i'll get them up asap |
I'll be waiting
