I did keep the foam in on either side while I had my z but left it in when I got rid of it along with the center piece I cut out.
Model is - BTA6250D 6.5" amplified bass tube. Fit in snug with no mounting. Didn't wiggle or vibrate. Stayed snug in there and provided all the bass I wanted. It will not vibrate ur car or even Be heard that far outside your car. IMO it added just the right amount of Bass to complete the sound system with my Polk entry level components without adding any significant weight (15lbs). Let's sell this. $200 shipped
