Realistically, your wheels have been used for longer and have had tyres replaced is that through choice or because of mileage? I ask because I am curious and am actually not looking for new wheels. |

I replaced the tyres because the Bridgestone's couldn't perform like I wanted them too. I have tried other variants of Bridgestone tyres on other cars including a 350Z, but they all lack grip when cold and take too long to heat up, and the side walls aren't stiff enough for what I want. They handle poorly in anything but dry weather, and even then they still flex and shift when cornering at pace meaning I have to back off the power until the car straightens up.
Bridgestones were replaced with fronts at just shy of 6mm and rears at 4mm and these were the factory fit from new when the car came from Nissan. Not sure when you've seen a full set of these on ebay for £1700 as I'd been looking for over nine months for another set to dedicate to track days, and the only listing I found was a set of three. The bloke wants £700 per wheel too which is why I didn't buy them, and he can't shift them as they are still for sale today. Probably because buying another wheel would be hard work unless it's a spanker and at ££££££. I ended up buying the GT alloys myself as I got bored of waiting and hoping a set would appear. Did the wheels you see also have brand new PS' tyres too, as that would put the alloys at a grand a set only which is a bargain. Wish I'd seen those listings. The mileage on the 'wheels' is almost irrelevant as this is still less than 7000 miles, and a set of 'delivery mileage' wheels won't look any better, and probably have the cheap Bridgestone tyres fitted too, which are a waste of money. But if mine are overpriced then I guess no-one will buy them and I'll either have to reduce them to match market demand or re-fit them and enjoy the rubber until its all gone. 370/350Z parts/buyers market is a smaller one I appreciate, but I've cared for these wheels massively during ownership so couldn't stomach giving them away for peanuts when I could as easily enjoy them some more. Thanks for the question though as this may answer it for any potential buyers out there. Last edited by Badger370; 01-18-2020 at 02:18 PM. Reason: Added thanks for response. |
