Default 350z vs 370z for track car?

Looking for some opinions on a dilemma I'm stuck with originally I was pretty convinced to go with either a Nismo or 40th 370z as kind of a daily/track car with the intentions of a lot of modding including boosting, before buying though I decided to look further into my options and hadn't realized how cheap 350z's have become so now I'm thinking I can pretty much have a Fully built and boosted 350z for near the same or cheaper than what I would be into a stock 370 for.

Curious if anyone has track experience with both cars? And what their thoughts are on one vs the other pro's con's ect.

You can't go wrong either way. Both will fly with similar mods and run pretty similar times. However if you plan on boosting stay away from early model z's unless you plan to also build the bottom end. I track my 370, and honestly power is the LAST thing this car needs. The car is a blast with wheels, tires, coilovers, brake pads/fluid and an oil cooler. Next mods will be a good LSD and brakes. If you have cost in mind though a 350 with the track package would be a nice option.

Alright thanks for the input, correct me if I'm wrong but the track package is just a brakes upgrade and a VDC on/off button?

Its not that cost is playing a big factor but if I can come out with near the same end result for 10-15k cheaper it just seems a heck of a lot more sensible since I'm not torn to one car or body style over the other. unless I'm forgetting something major between the two.

370 has a better front suspension, but the price difference for a 350 makes it much more attractive to build as a full track car. I have a full 370 track car, but it evolved into that and didn't start as one. If I was starting over, I would build a spec 350z, and after getting all I could from it, then add on the FI.

alright awesome, I'm strongly leaning towards a 350 right now, just seems like the more practical thing to do. Can I also just ask why you wouldn't just attack the build and get it all done in one go so you have a complete car?

The track package has the brembos and a VLSD. If you are replacing the lsd and brakes anyways then it doesn't matter, but if you're looking to just get out there and track while still building the car then its a good option. Personally for me I did NOT want a full build to track. I wanted to have a build where I start bone stock, and shake the car down and come up with a plan and order as to what mods I want to do and how it affected the car afterwards. You learn a LOT more about the car and the parts doing that in my opinion. You feel the differences.

because I have several friends who run spec Z in NASA and I think it would be more fun to race a group of Zs than go FI right off the bat.
