MJB, actually the Corvette team or someone at GM has already said they have a good percent of work done for the c8 already (probably 30%) and doing planning/testing.

Yeah, I remember reading that the C7 was originally going to be mid engine, but development was delayed and Chevy just decided to save that for the C8.

I am not saying it won't happen, but the mid engine vette has been a rumor since the c5 generation I believe if not before. If GM does build a mid engine car it will probably get classified as something else.
