 As for the rush, they probably only had 1 week to complete the episode and I very much doubt that they spent 12 hour days working on the vehicle. The show would probably be better if the episodes were an hour long. That way they could spend a little more time focusing on the different areas of the car that are being worked on. Rather than just "hey look, we bought some parts and while you were looking at the pretty girl, our mechanics bolted it all on the car."
