I agree bruh... I like the new stang. Don't get it twisted but 2010/2012, thus forum shoulda been called the mustang forum. Or the Mustang Z bashing forum. I never saw so much hate on a car forum for the actual car. While c0ck worshipping Ford

Which reigns true what us Z enthusiasts say.

2017 Chevy Camaro 1LE Price Will Increase | GM Authority

Camaro 1LE package WILL cost more than the 5th gen which was $3,500 but promise it will be less than $5,000. I'm guessing $4,500?

Due to technology they has to increase the price.

I gotta say, the Camaro is the ultimate package and for the first time in a very very long time. A car is getting the praise it deserves.

From what I can gather. Don't get the dual mode option. Go aftermarket. Dual mode is normal v8 tone at its loudest.

Having heard it in person, I thought it was noticeably louder than a normal V8 tone when the valves were open--on par with some aftermarket exhausts. Still a bit quiet for my tastes and certainly quieter than some of the more aggressive aftermarket options I'd heard for the 5th gen (and what little I've seen from some 6th gen stuff).

A few of the aftermarket companies (Borla, for example) are making a dual-mode option for the Camaro, so it may be worth picking it up as an option if you really desire that functionality (don't want to anger neighbors/passengers, whatever). From what I understand, adding the dual-mode functionality outside of the factory is not the most cost-effective thing to do.

Unrelated to the above, but the rest of the thread: I'm really curious if the 1LE keeps up with the entry level vette, or is even close. This could end up being a whole lot of car for the money (more than I originally thought).

The ZL1 is really starting to grow on me. I test drove a ZL1 a couple years ago and was really impressed that even though it was a big, heavy car (you could feel it compared to the Z) it was more nimble than I expected. But it really seemed that it needed all that horsepower to get it there. Now that they shaved off some weight and increased the horsepower I imagine they closed that gap big-time. Next is to check it out in-person.

I think I would wait a year though so they can work the kinks out and save a whole bunch of money.

I got a decent amount of seat time in the last-gen ZL1 myself - a buddy found one some old man bought and left in his garage for two years. Got a fully loaded 6MT 2013 model with 2,100 miles on it for $44k. I think that car was close to $60k new.

The 2017 ZL1 with a model year or two on it well be an absolute monster value. I found the first gen to be a serious amount of fun. Stupid power, yet surprisingly competent. The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires that were equipped on the car I drove were fantastic, but definitely not something you wanted to bury the throttle with during cold temperatures. When I first drove it, it was about 48 degrees out, and I mildly stepped into the throttle in third gear going around 40mph and the back end stepped out effortlessly. What I did like about it is I found the car to be very predictable and more connected to the driver than I expected.

It was really fun when I got to play with it on a 90 degree day during the summer. Don't get me wrong - you can still roast the tires on this car anytime, anywhere - but it was nice having the extra sticky tires on there to really feel how much power this thing put to the ground. Lots of grip, fantastic suspension, stupid power, and piss poor visibility

I'm super curious to try out this next gen Camaro. I told my wife that I was surprisingly smitten by the new one, and I tend to find American sports cars boring (save the Vette from a driving standpoint and the Viper from an everything standpoint).

This gen camaro is on another level. I drove the 1LE of last gen and I found the handling Yo be shocking. As you know the 1LE was the N/A ZL-1

The main thing that GM pushed gives that will have you addicted is TORQUE... The shove into the seat Chevy provides is awesome. Then when you combine it's handling capability. It just takes the game somewhere else for the money...

Impressive no doubt. Id still rather have a 911 S, lol. Probably even the 350GT over the Camaro. At similar price most definitely a C7.

You're just not going to get a Vette, equipped to perform at this level less than $70k brand new. So for about 45k if you opt for cloth seats and 50k for leather. This is the best performance bargain out there. And I can't wait for the ZL1.... AS this package, will be supercharged with a automatic option..

I'll reserve my judgement after the reviews and test drive.

You really think a 1LE will out perform an entry C7?

Possibly... With the 1le package, it's possible. But not the Z51 package on a vette

I figure GM learned their lesson in the 80's when they produced a turbo firebird that was faster than the vette. Dumb to make a car a better performer than your showcase.

I think if it competes against the GT350 is much more interesting. In terms of corvettes, the standard SS is as fast and can beat a C6 corvette grand sport. That in itself speaks volumes.

Dual mode wouldn't be important to me... A camaro wouldn't be my daily
