What's after the Z? What do you plan to buy?
I didn't want to put this in the Other Cars off topic section since I figured this would get more traffic.
Right now I have two vehicles, a newer plain jane daily driver, and my nice weather 370Z. More recently I have decided that having two cars is a bit of a pain in the ***. Two sets of insurance, one car ends up parked on the street etc. I feel like streamlining to one vehicle that does it all. While I love the Z it's not ideal. Top Choices: Bmw 228i Coupe (wish it came with AWD) Bmw 335xi Coupe AWD Audi S4 AWD Audi S5 AWD Infinity Q50 AWD Infinity FX50 AWD Caddy ATS Coupe AWD Lexus IS 350 AWD You can see by the list I want 300+ Horsepower, AWD and all would have to be 2012-2014 model years. All of them work well all year round even in the snow which we get too much of here!! Just looking for input, suggestions and would love to hear from others feeling the same way. |
Lamborghini Aventador...I wish!
Hmm never really thought about it. Maybe something a littler more practical. Maybe a CTS-V. Power, Luxury, 5 seats and a real trunk. |
WRX STi
|
If I could find a good one, the last generation of RX7. I loved those cars and still miss it. My next car will definitely be a turbo of some sort.
|
Porsche Cayman GTS for the daily, and either second Gen Lotus Exige or an FD Rx7 as a toy.
|
I love my Z but the car I am looking at is not on your list, C7 Corvette. You want one car to do it all and I want a sports car that albeit has space limitations.
|
A Prius modified with FI and some 22"s.
|
CTSV would be on my list but any RWD only vehicles won't work here in Canada for the winter. C7 is a favourite for me also, but yeah looking for one car that does it all.
|
I think the M235i is coming in AWD eventually maybe it will trickle to the 228
for a daily and only car I have been eventually considering leasing a Q60 coupe or IS350 AWD if I were to obtain a beater I want that C7 vette so bad |
Been said already but, C7...

Something AWD and turbo with aftermarket support. Still would keep the Z though.
|
CLK63 AMG
C63 AMG C6 Z06 911 Turbo if I can find one at a decent price. |

A house... with a big garage.
Maybe the next Z! or a new vette...mmm |
Will look for a four seater in about 2 years, so M4 will be on the short list.
|
I've got a long time left with the Z. No plans to sell it at any point. I can see myself adding a beater for a daily driver. Something like a $1k salvage title Craigslist pickup.
|
E39 M5 with an ESS supercharger, BBK, and coilovers. In fact, that's what I'm moving to next week.

Dodge Challenger R/T.

Keeping z34 and waiting for new design z35!! Hopefully it look bad a$$
|
A used Porsche GT 3. Someday a reality.
|
I'll look at the new Z35 when it comes out but most likely lean towards an M-series.
|
i need rear seats during the week and some weekends, so i will be keeping my Z for a while and replace my other cars in the mean time.
|
hell, i luv my Z... ive not thought about selling her at all... :D
|
I will continue with the dual car thing. I don't find the additional expenses to be that much of a burden. To each their own I suppose.
|
Owning 2 cars is a burden?? I currently own 5, and always on the lookout for another great deal!! Haven't given much thought to what comes after the Z.

The 370Z is nice, and if the next Z is good, I might get that. Otherwise, I might try to save up for Toyota's FT-1 if it's good too and not insanely expensive. But I am now thinking of luxury and power like you too. |
Unless I win the lotto or somehow see a massive paycheck upgrade, the 370Z is probably the most expensive car I'm willing to own. Need to save money for those retirement years... On the other hand, I might trade it in for the 2015 NISMO version and leave it stock. My unborn grandkids might inherit that beauty one day. ;)
This being said, I'm eyeing the Nissan IDx. If the production car doesn't deviate too far from the concept version, and in the FR-S price range, it just might be my new "everyday" car (the Z is just for impressing the dates and weekend sprints on the cop-free backroads). |

General Discussion section is meant for 370Z discussion only, This a 370z forum after all. :ugh2: |
I would definitely get a Lexus is350f or the q50 if I wanted a 4 door. Bmw, Audi are not the most reliable and need meticulas maitnance, to be somewhat reliable. Cadillac is a fing joke motors are good but I wouldn't waste my money on that ****. That's my 2 cents.
|
Personally after owning Z's for coming on 30yrs
I may move on to another brand unless the 2016 Nismo tickles my fancy :excited: |
The new Q50 with the GTR engine is gonna be pretty sweet me thinks. ;)
TapaTalk for iPhone. |
i would say for me, since i dont have a Z at the moment anyway it would either be the next Z or another 370Z depending on how the next Z comes out, and an iDX NISMO as long as it resembles closely what they are showing and talking about doing with that car in concept form right now :D
|
Bmw M4 or C7 Corvette

Used Audi S4/S5's are still really pricey here in Canada, but I would definitely get my hands on one of those if I can find one with a decent price. The only thing is Audi keeps making these prominent face-lifts on new models that make older models look like crap. I would not get the 335xi coupe, the 435's are so much better looking, although much more expensive, for now. Also, I would not get the STi. To me the going from the Z to the STi is more of a downgrade (although the Subaru might be/is faster). Other AWD sports sedans on my list are: CLA45 AMG, 2015 C450 AMG. If you are thinking of SUV's then have you considered RX350 Fsport, Audi Q5/SQ5, the new X5, or even the Macan S? |

I hope he/you have no interest in going around corners properly. I drive 2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo with 87k on it, and will definitely be looking at a newer Turbo when the time comes. Nothing like one of those things. Beasts. |
Prolly keep my Z and purchase the R36 GT-R a year or two after it comes out. Send it out to get some CF peaces some nice Wheels and meaty tires and have an alpha 10 or 12 installed call it a day.
|
GT-R? I swear that thing feels like it can accelerate faster in the rain than my Z could on dry (I am not joking).

I love my Z, but I think it's time to move on. A used 997 Carrera S will sure be nice. But I won't be surprised if I end up getting something more practical (and boring) like a 5 Series. I've spent a lot on home improvement in the past few months. I must admit, spending $2,500 on a front door is more satisfying than purchasing any car mod for the same price.
