Yea....what DE said. A Camaro besting a GTR AND Turbo S???? Folks are stoned at Motor Trend. Reminds me of an old article about the 350Z and RX8 going at it in 2004. The Z made a mockery of the Mazda in EVERY performance test they did. Complete domination but MT awarded the 8 the better car due to a backseat and basically driving comfort...wtf?

Chuck33079 03-27-2014 08:03 AM

So the purpose-built track slut on damn near race tires beat the two street cars on street tires? And people are surprised? These magazines need to have a spec tire they put all their test cars on.

DR_ 03-27-2014 09:16 AM

Pretty impressive but a $75k Camaro???

AND in the rain... I just don't see it happening

Not to mention in that comparison every domestic fanboy just seems to gloss over the fact that the gtr slaughtered the z28 in the 0 to 60 and quarter mile...not to mention they are comparing an all out track focused car to a regular street version gtr when they should be putting it against the nismo gtr which will also be an all out track focused car including the tires

Chuck33079 03-27-2014 10:27 AM

GM also has a much larger ad budget than Nissan or Porsche, so there's no surprise that their new car won.

madwi 03-27-2014 10:30 AM

for F*cks sake, $75K for a camaro, please stop trying to fill my *** with BS it has enough gas already!

FPenvy 03-27-2014 10:31 AM

i feel like the drivers in the GTR and Porsche were told to not push the pedal all the way down lol

:shakes head:

This is what gets me. Sure, the Camaro is faster, but what you rather have? A GTR/Porsche, or a $75k version of what the high school kid next door drives?

Chuck33079 03-27-2014 10:35 AM

The Z/28 is going to most likely be sold to someone who already owns several really nice cars. It's not a $75k street Camaro. It's a $75k barely street legal track toy. The guy who wants a bad Camaro for street use buys a ZL1.

Not my style, but good to see these large domestic boats holding their own.
