Surprised the GT-R did not have luck nut issues like another site when they compared the cars.....:stirthepot:

Probably cause the other site got a better lap time in the gtr and were like "oh crap we got a faster lap time in the gtr, hurry and sabotage it so we can get paid by gm" lol

Yeah, the other one never posted any lap times, just how the cars felt and how amazing the Z/28 was.
I will admit, the GT-R is getting old, even with the updates and advances it is still basically the same car from 2008/9 just with more power and a little more refinement. A refresh will awaken it again and put it back at the top.

Pretty impressive but a $75k Camaro???

but a $75k Camaro with no A/C or sound system. You better have a second sports car for you to drive around in town during summer cuz this one will get you from point A to point B sweaty as hell and you have to tailgate a car with window down and volume on high.:owned::owned:

I thought it's pretty much the same but a boost from hybrid electric cells tech-wise.

I read it on a few different websites this past weekend. When I have more time ill consult the oracle.

it'll be the nismo engine basically with a KERS system giving it around 200 more HP

so yes around 800 total HP

yet its all speculation thus far. real info wont be know for awhile.

I give credit where credit is due. A $75k muscle car competes with precision sports cars that cost 2-3x more. Yeah it's expensive but not really when you consider the track ready performance. American cars have the most bang for the buck. Wait til the Z06 comparisons come out and watch it take down quarter million dollar plus exotics. I am glad USA is back in the game. The GTR is awesome but I would take the Z06.

I agree, but if Envy is correct, I dont see a Vette taking on the new GTR.I have a feeling the new GTR will be the Japanese 918.

American cars are always going to be the value king. I never understood the price comparison that x-car took out y-car and x-car is $xxxxxx less. Case in point, the owners of those $250k+ exotics could buy multiple corvettes if they wanted. But they didn't. Why? Probably because it was a Corvette....

b15 03-27-2014 01:03 PM

...and I should add that I'm not trying to downplay the performance aspect of a domestic. It's good to see them finally take the sports car world seriously.

TaylorRyan370 03-27-2014 01:16 PM

I like a car based on the looks and performance, not on the brand.

b15 03-27-2014 01:25 PM

Exactly why price comparisons don't make sense....because it's all subjective!

TaylorRyan370 03-27-2014 03:09 PM

But it's pretty awesome when the underdog, aka the cheapest car, wins. I'm just happy all the American car haters have nothing but excuses.

ElVee 03-27-2014 04:05 PM

So...why not put the Z/28 up against the Corvette Stingray? And the Dodge Viper? Seems that's right where this comparison should go if they're going the GTR and 911 Turbo S route. Even up the tires and put ceramics on the GT-R, and I think you'd see the Z/28 slip back into its rightful place of third.

But like someone said, only track guys will be looking this direction. Everyone else that wants more than they need will go ZL1. More hp, less $ and get back to mouth-breathing.
