Since Toyota already had a solid rep it was easy to transition to a upmarket brand. Hyundai f*cked up their rep by building rebadged Mitsubishis that were unreliable junk when they first started here in the U.S. It's difficult to convince people of a new image especially after you had a bad rep. |
