thanks again for the pics wais, and yes as a matter of fact there has been a change in MPG, along with a gain of around 8whp i now average around 2mpg better than with the stock intake so am now consistently getting around 43 to 44mpg on the highway :D and now looking at the color of the car in your latest pic i can now say i chose the right name lol...i had no idea how blue the car looks in certain light until this pic :bowrofl:

Damn! you lucky SOB that is fantastic to get that kind of MPG's. That is Prius level mpg's but your car will be wayy cooler.

Your car is definitely a blue/green combo depending on the light. I think it's pretty cool and would look great with a nice set of black wheels ;)

My car has been submitted to Tanabe for consideration thanks to some friendly advice from Mr. Wais, hopefully my car is the front runner lol

Z_ealot 10-02-2013 02:27 PM

Lol I thought about that too kenchan but I ran with it anyway...oh and also some new information...I have been put on the list of r&d cars at tanabe :)

kenchan 10-02-2013 02:35 PM

nice! hope you get free springs and that tanabe touring muffler. i have the muffler on my '12. sounds good.

not obnoxious, looks a tad more exciting than stock, no fart can look.

Exactly what I was going for but we shall see that's what I like about wais exhaust was that it was pretty tame unless you got on it pretty good oh and also received the dyno plots back from injen. Turns out this engine may be underrated as the stock baseline was at around 90hp...adding in the intake brought it up to 97hp at peak which is actually pretty good for a car of this weight and size.I will upload dyno shots after I get home from work though

sidenote: was planning to get tint done this weekend, but had a few financial decisions come up that were more important so tint is on hold for 2 weeks :(

That's a great jump in hp from your intake

Given your CVT and the fact that you're down nearly 27 hp from the Fit your MPG difference to the Fit now makes sense

isnt the 2009 and above fit sport rated at 117hp vs. the Note's 109hp? from what i've been able to dig up it seems like the actual whp from the fit and the note arent much different and are both very efficient at getting the power to the ground. the stock dyno plots i've been able to find for the fit show it at around 98 to 100whp vs. the Notes 93/94hp baseline pull, pretty awesome for both considering their rated crank HP is not much higher than that :D does anyone know if there's any gains from throwing an axle back exhaust on the fit?

the thing about the Fit for me is that mine is a 5MT and can accelerate to 60 under 8sec. that's plenty quick for a eco-hatch. my obc shows 30.6mpg on short surface roads trips with my spirited driving, so that's plenty for me. when i did a road trip it was up to 37mpg, nowhere near your 44+mpg, but im okay with it.

for me, i prefer the quickness vs squeezing out mpg. i really dont care about gas consumption at this level as it's regular gas and it doesn't cost that much to begin with. however, i would prefer the car had a larger tank so i dont have to fill as often.

I feel the same way Ken and I know I'll be limited by the cvt but I feel this engine seems like it was very limited from the factory as far as being able to breathe so at some point I hope someone comes up with a exhaust header for this engine but im happy just being at stock Honda fit levels right now lol

you're also at the impreza hatch CVT level as well as far as acceleration. mid-9 sec.'s which is plenty per my wife. :)

Brother has a Impreza Hatch that I drove for about a month, Fit is way more fun

I have to give a big +1 to Ken's comment about sacrificing the MPG's for the Fit's performance. Even with 4 people I never feel like the Fit is under-powered

Looking forward to checking out and taking pics of that Intake on Saturday Mike ;)
