Only reason why I was talking about replacing the Z is if I'm in the situation and I have to downsize to one car, I wasn't sure if it would completely scratch the sporty/performance itch or not.

On the other hand, they have made mention of a 6MT powertrain potentially coming available for it (or at least I thought I read that somewhere), and if they rock epic lease deals like they have for the G37 and I'm far enough out of negative equity on my Mazda then I will pick one up without a doubt. My buddy landed a $249/mo lease on a G37 Journey with Sport Appearance pkg + navigation. That is a hell of a car for that money. 12k miles a year for 2 or 3 years.

I have a feeling what's going to happen is auto trannies will be standard and manuals wil be a cost option down the line. I expect the 6mt in the Q50 the same year the Q60 is released. I'm sure the 60 will have manual.

I sure hope so. Nissan has been all about nixing manuals lately. Well... not just Nissan. Pretty much everyone.

I was looking at the luxury sport sedan line - BMW and Audi are the last ones out there offering a MT. In fact, the 2014 Audi S4 only gets a 6MT option in the US... not even in Europe!

this is just my guess. I think they are nixxing them now so when they bring them back as a cost option. People will just focus on the fact that manuals are back and optional. They won't focus on "why are they paying more money for a tranny that's cheaper to build than the standard auto.".

Only 20% of the market buys manuals, but 20% of 1,000,000 is still 200,000. That's a viable number and a considerable demand. Manuals a rent going anywhere. The halt is all market strategy.

AFAIC, that is THE color for that car. THE color.

Beautiful ride!!! Tint is necessary. Would love to see the chrome trim around the windows blacked out as well.

That Direct adaptive ******** sucks... don't do it. If they don't have a steering column option pass.... MT tend to understand the philosophy behind Nissan infiniti products.... if they say DAS sucks...
It damn sure sucks....

I hate this Technology
I hate EPAS
I HATE E-E-BRAKES.
I hate E SPORTS CARS...

It's an abomination to ENTHUSIAST cars.

I just went on Infiniti website...i had NO idea they made 4 banger i4 for the Q50. Thats ALMOST as bad as Lexus V6 with 200 hp.

You've musta been asleep. It was the first confirmed engine. They announced it was coming late 2014.

At least the infiniti is approx 250lbs lighter than the lex.

After reading through that review, it's precisely what I expected. They had the opportunity to drive both a DAS car and non-DAS car, but chose to lambast the DAS car while not commenting on the standard steering, which skews the overall review.

Skip the DAS car and add a LSD to this car, and it's a serious contender. I've said that from the beginning. After I take care of my family's housing situation, I will decide whether to keep my 3.7 RWD or move to a Red Sport based upon what's available during this car's full mid-cycle refresh.

I really anticipate a dual clutch being offered at some point... but I'm ok with the current 7AT. If the aftermarket responds to the red sport and Quaife drops an ATB differential for this thing, I'm all in. The car is great - just missing a couple pieces.

Motor Trend Review

Hi expectations from MT but pleased with speed and power. MT was clearly harder on the brand and deservedly so. It is hard and takes a lot to go after well established brands like BMW and Mercs. I understand what MT is saying about the need for infiniti to be clear on what they intend the car to be.

As for the motor - would love to see this on a Z. The Q was a tad under 3900 lbs. so just imagine that.
