The 2010 Mustang....**56k death PICS**

Coming from an import car guy, I must say the 2010 Mustang is something I would definitely want to buy. The car just drop dead sexy.

My current choice is either the Nissan 370z or the cheaper alternative, 2010 Mustang :bigthumb:

i'd still get a Z over it

but if i really wanted that mustang, i get a slightly used one, those loose value left & right....lol

SpawnAeroJohn 07-26-2009 01:24 AM

I love the new mustang but its no where close to the Z. The stang is pretty much a quarter mile straight line car. The Z can do straight line as well as left and right. IMO Id go with the Z but I do also love the new mustang.

frost 07-26-2009 01:25 AM

its ok, im just not floored by it.

Huge difference in looks compare to the 2009 Mustang IMO. But judging from the interior pics, the mustang's interior is cheap & made out of hard plastic on every corner.

azn370z 07-26-2009 01:26 AM

Honestly I can't tell the difference from the last generation mustang and the new mustang. I think the camaro is a much much better looking car but the only domestic car i would be willing to buy and risk reliability is the corvette. I think you posted in the wrong section of the forum but nice big pics.

x2. Not only that. The domestic sport cars are bought more for your average daily driver car. When I think 2010 camaro, cobalt ss, neon srt4, charger, 05+ mustang. I think ok the average 22Kish car built for those who just need a car period.

When you hear S2000, GTR, 370z, 350z, corvette, GTO, Evos, etc. You think cars that actually have something to them.

Again this is all my personal opinion. I dont want to start anything.

They revised the front & rear end to make the car look more sporty & muscular. The headlight & foglight doesn't look like the bought it from JCWhitney.com anymore. :p

I love the look of the car though.

nogoodname 07-26-2009 01:46 AM

the headlights now have projectors and i like the rear bumper sticking a bit more out.

theres already a SC kit out

Greg 07-26-2009 01:48 AM

People still use 56k? :p

And shouldnt this be in the Other vehicles section? No offense to pony fans ;)

av370 07-26-2009 03:04 AM

If it olny had a six speed and 4 valves per cyl.

MC 07-26-2009 03:30 AM

people who buy this 2010 in a GT are gonna get owned.. the 2011 is supposed to get a 3.7 liter V6 with like 300hp. so that tells you the V8 is getting a new motor aswell. its a cool looking car my brother has an 05 and was thinking about trading up...but i told him he better wait until the new motor is announced to jump on it

g96818 07-26-2009 03:44 AM

 to that POS

BanningZ 07-26-2009 05:23 AM

Last week I had been looking at this car online. I thought, "Ehh nothing special" but I did agree with the redesigns they did.
Later that day we went out to do some errands, and Laura and I saw five of them while we were out. 3 silver ones, one black, one red.

I thought to myself, if there was ever a car to depreciate it would be this one. 5 in one day? And it just came out?!

Most people appreciate exclusivity, not abundance.

nogoodname 07-26-2009 06:49 AM

how reliable r they?

BanningZ 07-26-2009 06:59 AM

Trucks
Yes!
Econocars?
Yes!
Muscle/ Sports cars?
Not so much :(

2011 Ford Mustang will once again have a 5.0 liter V8 engine. ...400+ HP

TBSS2008 07-26-2009 09:23 AM

Definitely looks better then the 2009 body style. It does look like Ford will be putting in new 5.0 V8 four-valve per cylinder setup, in the 2011 Mustang rumored to produce 400hp and 400lbs tq.

Here is the article if anyone is interested:
Ford’s 5.0L coyote V8 spied!

I will still take my 370z over a 400hp Mustang. Although it will be interesting to see how it will perform and if will retain the same curb weight. If doesn't gain much weight it will be fast, that’s +85hp and +80lbft increase over the 2010 V8 motor.

CBRich 07-26-2009 10:15 AM

To each his own but I can see why they put the interior pics last.

StLRedrider 07-26-2009 10:22 AM

Don't get me wrong i luv ford's, but it's still just another mustang.

Zerafian 07-26-2009 10:22 AM

Only part that looks appealling is the front end...besides Iv seen a handful of 09's around and they look just like that. The only part that stood out was the fact that the turn signals have an alternating flash in the tail lights. Starts from the inner light and moves to the outter light.(seemed ridiculous)

Honestly none of the new american muscle sticks out on the road. Their curves and lines are boring and flat to me. PLUS if you want a mustang that actually looks beautiful you have to pay over $60k. Theres so many american muscle nut huggers, the mustang will never die. I can think of at least 10 states that Imports would be a rarity and muscle reigns supreme.

CBRich 07-26-2009 10:35 AM

But the average age of those fans is going up every year. If the American makers think things are bad now wait about 20 years. If they don't up their game and gain some popularity with my generation or my kid's generation their whole fanbase will die off.

That was my big reason for not getting a Mustang...

A Mustang with anything less than a 5.0, isn't a mustang.

That, and seems like every dyed-hair blond, not-yet-soccor-mom-who's-still-single-in-her-late-20's drives one...

They should rename the thing "cougar-concept"

Pushing_Tin 07-26-2009 12:52 PM

I've always liked Mustangs, but I can't stand the mast antenna, it makes the car look dated IMO.

dad 07-26-2009 01:01 PM

What's with all the plastic **** around the bottom?

smurfblu13 07-26-2009 02:08 PM

I don't know if it's just me, but I think the rear end looks like a sedan. To me they did an awesome job of making the front look aggressive and then all the aggressive juices ran out when it came time for the rear. Still overall a nice new design.

Crash 07-27-2009 03:30 AM

Well, I have to give it to Ford, they managed to get in-dash navi in their pony car and GM hasn't figured that one out yet. LOL

Although, I still don't get why they put 5-speeds in these cars... Lame, IMO.

I like the looks of the '10 more than the '09, but that's just my preference. The 5.0L is supposed to be offered in N/A and 2 different blown versions. 400HP, 500HP, and (supposedly) 700HP.

From the pics, it looks like they finally decided to use the V8 design they came up with MANY years ago, didn't use, and let GM use which turned into the LS1. About time. I guess that's how they're making so much power N/A with the 5.0.

ZKindaGuy 07-27-2009 10:38 AM

Sorry to say this but most true blue Mustangers (such as myslef) think the 2010 Mustang is the beginning of the end for its styling design. Most of the stangers agree that when seen "live" the backend of the car is a total f*ck-up in design as its bulging rounded deck lid lines makes the car look like a sedan. And the angling up of the lights is a complete screwup as no Mustang in its history ever had such an angling up which looks totally dumb.

The car is a pig in weight as well as it damn near weights 500 more pounds than the 370Z. And for a 4.6L engine the car barely makes 315 BHP.

Also the stock suspension is not on the same level as the Z when it comes slalom types of events as the Mustang is predominently set up for straight line. I am not saying that it cannot hold teh rode...I am just saying that to do course-running with guaranteed absolute precision and ease of hnadling the suspension needs to be upgraded to exactly what the Shelby-GT (not the Shelby GT500) has.

When I describe to my fellow club stangers why I left the pack I say it this way:

Mustang = RAW............Z = Refined.

My vote:

Mustang = :thumbsdown:..............Z = :tup:

And this is coming from me, a guy who has had nothing but Mustangs for the 38 years I have been driving.

nogoodname 07-27-2009 10:55 AM

did you see the chip foose'ed mustang

saw it on Muscle car Tv, he already got his hands on it....lol

xiven 07-27-2009 11:01 AM

blah...that is just gross!

I've never been a fan of Rustangs...and no that is not a typo

Yeah, that was something else too - .9L more engine, 2 more cylinders, and it can't produce more HP? I was also happy with the front, sides...but from the back quarter and around the rear - it's just wrong.

Pushing_Tin 07-27-2009 11:58 AM

Didn't Steve Saleen bail out and start another company?
