It's funny, the Fit is such small car but because it is also pretty low it is a tad bit of a PITA to clean with the PC that I have.

I have realized what I did wrong the last time I used my PC on the car and since I ran of out daylight I had to cut it short. I cut most of the swirls out by need to really follow up with my polishing compounds and finally try out that sealant.

Nice! I thought for sure mine was going to be blue too but it ended up coming in light silver instead.

Not sure if you have used a cover before but just keep an eye on how dirty your car is before you cover it. Light dust is fine but if it's really dirty you don't want to cover it until you can wash it. Also be aware of your exhaust tips and if you come home after a cruise just leave them uncovered until they can cool down.

I live a 10 minute walk from the ocean and it really cools down at night so if I don't cover it I end up having a really dirty car after literally one night of being outside since it gets covered in dew. I know you're not the biggest fan of them but for me I really find them useful and now that I have had literally 5 different ones between my two cars I know the best practice with them.

Also, for me it helps to make my cars less noticeable to passerby's. I have two really modified cars sitting in my driveway with some valuable parts on them so if I can at least hide them when I am asleep or away it gives me some piece of mind :)

Lucky for me the Fit aftermarket is pretty strong, you're going to need to be patient for companies to start making stuff

Ya I would have wanted the silver one since my car is silver and would have liked it all to match. But I’m happy it’s the Oem one with the Si stamp in the front. I have had covers in the past but never a really good quality one. All bought from Auto part stores that where universal for body types. I only put on the cover after a wash. On occasion like you stated with very light dust. It was mainly bought to cover up so others can’t really see it/ salvage some car washes and to mainly stop the sun from beating up on the paint during the summer time. Might just leave it on though in light rain since the manual for the car cover states it’s ok. As far as the exhaust, back in the day let’s just say something melted.

In terms of OEM covers, Honda has some of the best I have seen since they use the high end Kimberly Clark covers which have a very breathable material.

They are water resistant so light rain and morning dew are normally prevented but if you know it's going to rain hard you should just remove it.

I too use it so the sun doesn't beat down on my car and I have several cats and skunks in my area so they like to piss on my front bunper :icon17:

when i did the sealant i used my 6" orbital for the hood, doors, and roof, and my 3" for the a-pillar (to all the way back on the sides of the roof), the sills, and rear. it wasn't too bad for me. i didnt do the front as it has clear bra so i just sprayed Prima Hydro (polymer) on it as i usually do after a wash.

as for covers, yah ive lived in LA long time ago so i know wat you mean by dust. it's like living next to a construction zone. :icon17:

wish koni would do the front struts for our GE's... they have yellows only for the rear still... :ugh2:

Both of the guys who run the forum are personal friends and I am very lucky that anything I have needed for the car they take care of for me.

I came down with a little cold and was knocked out the last few days so I won't be washing my car or doing any detailing. I did buy a 3" pad and adaptor and really need to take that out and use it. I think my problem was that I used only the cutting pad and polish and nothing else when I now know that I need to use both a cutting compound and follow it up with a polishing compound and finish it off with a sealant or wax. :facepalm:

yah the 3" is almost a requirement to do the roof sidepieces, side sills/rockers, and rear. :)
since my car is relatively swirl free i just used a sealant with polish, called One-Step Sealant from Griots. it leaves behind a teflon like slick (and hard) surface. lasts a long time. :)

i dont like spending much time on my dd's.

Well I finally got my driver door panel replaced today by the local dealer. They made it seem like they were jumping through hoops and at first didn't want anything to do with it since it was bought out of state. But in the end the car is CPO. They called it a good will fix on the paperwork. I'm just glad the arm rest is no longer cracked :tup:

In other news on my drive to the dealer this happened. I was several car lengths behind an F150 who was in the right lane with some sort of kayak or canoe sitting in the bed. I was in the right lane. Well as my luck would have it the paddle blows out of the bed and skids over into my lane. The brakes on the Fit were not going to shut it down in time and at the risk of getting rear ended if the person behind me wasn't paying attention also with a vette on my left side I had no room to go anywhere. I did my best to try and miss it at the last second. But my passenger rear wheel caught one end of the paddles and shattered it in a million pieces with the help of my rear bumper. :mad:

Looks like I may have gotten away with one as the black mark left by the plastic paddle on the rear bumper by the fender well rubbed off and I didn't see any other marks although its raining here and hard to tell what other marks may be present.

I am feeling about 80% recovered but won't have any energy to wash or PC anything for at least a week.

Man I was KO'd :(

Glad to hear they stood by the CPO, that is precisely why I went with CPO vs private sale.
