That doesn't look like a mustang at all :icon14:

Yeah, I can't even look at anything back beyond the front tires.

But I have to say, while I ...kinda... like the front end, I don't like it as a front end for a Mustang. I should not mistake a Mustang for a Taurus, and vice versa.

It looks almost like a crossover, kinda like the Honda Crosstour or the BMW GT cars. I strongly doubt the next gen Mustang will look anything like that.

475 hp and sub 3500 lbs would be amazing. Having to buy wider wheels would be a small price to pay, although I find it pretty ridiculous that their tires are thinner than the 370Z's.

Ford cars are starting to look like this, I wouldnt be shocked if this was close to the final result. I dont care how fast it will be it looks terrible like that.

Whatever it looks like... Outside the front grille, it looks very un-GT sport coupe. Ford needs a new plan IF, that's a real render???

They have two perfect sounding motors... They shouldn't mount it in something like that.

I'm confused by the title. Would this be great news for car enthusiasts, not just "Mustang fanboys?"

yah, im wondering what mustang boyz feel about the new design. it doesn't look all that muscular or the traditional retro theme.

like the taurus, ford should rename their next gen cars to kind of separate the old and the new.

the current taurus is actually pretty good looking.... too good to be a "taurus."

Ford is making good moves on the design front. The concept needs a lot of work but I like the direction.

Retro and retro-modern have more-or-less run their course in the 9 years since they brought the S197 to the table.

I don't really mind carrying the names forward, but then I wasn't alive to see most of these the first time through. I thought the first-gen Taurus was well-received, and we know the early Mustang was as well. Both cars had dark periods, but I don't know that it's worth throwing a name away over.

This is what happens when the Aston Martin designer redesigns your whole lineup. Could be worse they could of let the Aztek guys in like GM did on the rear end of the C7.

yah, with that in mind, that might be okay for the younger crowd of today.

im not sure since im not a ford fan, but also, i think they failed miserably with the 500 or watever that fugly sedan was that was supposedly the replacement for the taurus(?) so perhaps they wanted the name recogntion again to ensure that people know it's a ford car to isolate bad memories.

That eco boost engine intrigues me... I wonder what the first modded eco-boost stangs are going to produce in power and how will they stand against v8's with breather mods. It's going to be crazy.

I wonder if they'll call it the svo?

I think the 500 was a Crown Vic replacement. They were trying to get it in as another fleet car....and failed horribly.
