Do you also think it's because there are more Vettes on the road? Therefore easier to get parts or maybe the parts are cheaper? I'm just taking a wild guess. I see hardly any 370z's but come across Vettes all the time, even Z06's. I rarely see a new STI. But then again, I can only speak from my experience. Maybe others see Z's all the time.

The Z sells low but is built on a common platform. FM
The VQ37 sells in the G37 sedan and coupe which sells about 60,000 units a year
The M37 is also built on the same platform and sells around 20,000 units. The Ex35 and FX are built on the same platform. So chassis parts are plenty as well as engine parts. Problem is... Everything from FM platform is imported so there's added importation taxes and shipping on those parts. All vette parts are made here in the USA.

Good point, I didn't think of that. And domestic vs. international parts makes sense.

A little weight reduction news from GM.

GM CEO orders 15% diet for all new models by 2016. Bodes well for 6th gen Camaro? | Camaro ZL1 Z28 SS LT Camaro forums, news, blog, reviews, wallpapers, pricing – Camaro5.com » Blog Archive

15% from the camaro would be in the 500-600lb range, which would bring the camaro down from 3800lbs for a manual SS to 3300 lbs. That's a huge difference. This means the v6's will be right under 3200 lbs. With this kind of weight loss on the same motors and updated suspensions? This would make camaro, the fastest affordable sports car out today if it happened tomorrow? Damn. The mustang may lose a little weight and the Z is supposed to be substantially lighter next gen.

It looks like we went from the HP wars to the weight wars.

Teased photo of 2014 grille. Looks like the grille might be thinned out???? Looks strange to me... I wonder if they will reduce overhang???

GM listing for the 2014 camaro shows LS7 engine.

More Teasers/Renders from Chevy. The ZL-1 shows the full frontal. I like the grille in general BUT, the "whole front" seems too big for those narrow lights... Maybe its just the way the photo was taken? I dunno? I'm guessing thats the direction they're going with the next gen headlights??

It looks like it's squinting...

Besides, didn't anyone tell them that it was the interior that needed changing?

the interior was refreshed in 12, everything was improved but the steering wheel. They found a way to make it 3x uglier than it already was.:ugh2:

For me, I like the Camaro's interior better than any other car I have ever owned because of the HUD (head up display). That thing is just way too cool. No other non-GM car has it.

The Q50 will have it this summer.

Good for them. Car manufacturers should put that technology into their cars. I would love it :)
