The whole point of that car is having the limits set VERY low with limited grip, but very fun and controllable with good balance. Once you start putting sticky tires on them they are ruined.

That makes sense.

be funny if they came with them old RE92's :rofl2: remember those pos tires? :icon17:

It takes a lot of money and suspension tuning the get a Z to handle as well as a BRZ/FRS does when you drive it off the lot.

The tires are crap, but everything else is dialed in.

Sure, it won't win a pedal-mashing contest with a Z, but that's not really what either car is made for anyway.

kenchan 06-02-2015 11:41 AM

hummm... maybe i will seriously consider the brz next as dd. i was thinking abarth, but im still not convinced italian-chrysler reliability.. :ugh:

I mean his car was falling apart trying to keep up with the FRS :|

kenchan 06-02-2015 11:46 AM

brz's run wat, 18's max? 18x8 and 18x9 or something? plenty of rpf1's to choose from.

27500(?) + 500 + 350 + 1200 = 29550

not bad. half the price of the IS350 F-sport i dont like no more. :rofl2:

kenchan 06-02-2015 11:53 AM

now would a BRZ be able to carry four Z wheels/tires? :icon08: if yes, i think im game.

kenchan 06-02-2015 11:56 AM

actually the rpf will need to run aftermarket tires since factory is 17's... so add another 1K for tires. stil around $30-31k.

I am happy I resurrected this thread.

Voice59 06-02-2015 01:41 PM

I think the funniest thing he said was "you lower life form". LOL I laughed for a while about that.

kenchan 06-02-2015 02:05 PM

...............SW TTL dia
215 45 17 96.75 625.3 (stock)
225 40 18 90.00 637.2
235 35 18 82.25 621.7
245 35 18 85.75 628.7
255 35 18 89.25 635.7

so yah, 245/35/18 square would be close.. 18x8 ET35 18x9.5 ET38 drop 2"
or 235/35/18 + 245/35/18 staggered drop 2" probably.

kenchan 06-02-2015 02:07 PM

oh and run RE92's. :rofl2:

brz/frs folks can thank me for the calculation.

mishuko 06-02-2015 02:45 PM

cousin has a frs... it's not bad. did feel a bit underwhelming on a 'straight' but yea... what do you expect from the engine?

unfortunately when i rode it was under 200km and still needing break-in. we'll be crusing more this summer... hopefully he won't be towing me when i bust my csc.

kenchan 06-02-2015 03:38 PM

i wonder how much suspension stroke is left after a 2" drop... might be riding the bumpstops.

If I had to drive an auto, this is my favorite slush-box. (I think it's the same one that comes in the Lexus IS) In sport mode, with the nannies turned off, it does what I would do with the gears 95% of the time. It even holds gears for engine braking.

So me and the wife are driving around looking for some grub. (She didn't feel like cookin' last nite.) Short story, Shorter!!

I'm doing about 30mph, this one light goes from green to yellow to red superfast and I was real close to it. I could have slammed the brake but I was really close to the corner and the yellow just hit so I knew I had 2 seconds. What to do? I took the most bad azz right the Z can take and I must have looked kool doin it b4 the light actually went red? Because some Dork azz cornball in a BRZ, I guess observed my abrupt and roll free turn (Thank you Eibach & Swift) and thought Ooooh, potential challenge...
Well my light turned red fast but his green took some time for him to move. On that block I was cruising about 42mph, when this Azzhole in a BRZ does about 65-70mph so he can make a dramatic ricer fly-by.

Ok so I am sooo.... ugh NOT impressed. He' needed 7450rpm's for his cheezy ricer fly-by??? Do it to a Civic rice boy. When you can beat a gencoupe 2.0's around a track? WHICH THEY CANT. Then challenge 3.8's and v6 mustangs, when you beat them, Then challenge Z's you lower life-form.

We hit a light, I'm on the far right, he's on the far left. Light turns green and traffic is in front of us. He tries to make some fancy moves around cars and goes fast, gets about half a block ahead. Then dramatically slows down So when the light turns red we're next to each other...

I guess he thought his Greddy intake and exhaust was good for 100hp. Mind you he's on those weak azz stock tires and his car is Dirtier than Governor Christie's Shyt stained drawz...

I was so annoyed. I was supposed to go straight and and then get on the highway to another area where there are restaurants. Made a right instead and dealt with street traffic so I didn't have to be next to that cornball...

That was my first BRZ, that had come around me acting like a Civic driver. You expect it from a Civic. But from a BRZ owner. You want to get out the car and pimp-slap him around like the lil bytch he is...
"Where's mah munneyy ho-azz Bytch. Gimmie that toy car and I'll sell it at it's real value.... $20 grand. lol

Thats my first BRZ challenge story.

I've read that over and over again and still haven't a clue what you're on about !!
