What would you turn faster lap times in: a Mini, a BRZ or a 370Z?

It might depend on which model Mini and 370z. A 370z with sport would be fastest because, brakes, LSD and better tires but a JCW Mini could be a good fight for a non sport 370z.

b1adesofcha0s 03-01-2013 01:15 PM

No one ever tries to race me when I'm driving my Z and I have been DD'ing it for over 2 years now! However, if anyone else ever drives my Z everyone tries to race against it. They must all have seen my timeslips :rofl2:

kenchan 03-01-2013 01:19 PM

minivans race me all the time while im in my Z. they go like so faaast too.

you're suppose to include RWD somewhere in there cause our cars are RWD.
RWD cars are automatically faster than ANY FWD cars. they have proof.

you forget about the cobalt SS turbo my friend, they may be FWD but they are very quick handling for a FWD car

indeed. they were fast going backwards in RWD mode.

Integra Type R and Prelude type Sh were respectable. Double Wishbone Suspension was awesome.

cars that rave(d) handling are(were) usually slow.

Had a Z4 now have a Z. Can't really compare though, unless you had an M it was really made for top down cruising. Tramlining was a big issue as well, but to be fair, I over sized the tires. A nice performing Z4 that performs similar to a Z is $60K now.

On that note, what's sad is that a bunch of new FWD cars (e.g., Renault Megane) spanked it around their track...

Well, that's why the battle cry of proud BRZ/FR-S owners is "its not about the numbers!"

Because all the numbers for that car kinda suck...:icon14:

Although they didn't go with my favorite concept iteration, I don't dislike the look of the cars.

If they offered it with 250 - 300 bhp and another 25- 50 lb/ft of tq I'd still consider it as a future car.

vtec to vvel 05-31-2015 04:07 PM

there are some douche bags even on this site that will challenge fellow 370Z owners. I don't consider my car to be fast, maybe quick, but not fast, nor do i drive it like it is. one day, i was just cruising @ 45 and a nismo pulls up alongside. i figured it was just a "hey what's up!" kinda thing, but the whole time, it stuck right next to me, whether going slower or speeding up. when i finally went into the left-turn lane, it speeds away with flashers on and giving me a thumbs down. i mean really?? btw, this happened in tampa florida, on dale mabry and gandy. white nismo, with whited-out stock nismo rims and with black-out tail lights.

jburch 05-31-2015 04:24 PM

Lol i loved reading this. I used to own a BRZ before i got my Z. Everywhere i went there was always someone trying to show me how slow my car really was. Just thought it was funny that someone in a BRZ tried going against a 370. BRZ's are pretty and have great handling but thats literally all they have. It was great decision switching over.

What car have you been driving prior to not think the Z is a fast car?

Fast is relative. Sure the Z might seem fast compared to a BRZ/FRS, but if you compare it to something like a Corvette the Z will seem like a slow car. I've driven a modded 335, modded ISF, and test drove a stock C7. All those cars made my Z feel slow. First two couldn't match the handling of the Z, but the last one exceeded it.

Hes also the same guy who said the FR-S is a poor mans ferrari. Yet 75% of FR-S owners are wishing to get in a Z. 151Lbs-tq =

Poor mans ferrari's wouldnt be torqueless tools on Prius tires.

kenchan 06-02-2015 11:20 AM

thought the FRS was modeled after the cayman...

regardless it's too slow to be shaped like that in my neck of the taffyappleville.
get stomped by minivans and camry's.

kenchan 06-02-2015 11:23 AM

oh wait, my Z gets stomped by bald headed middle-aged losers in minivans all the time... :ugh2:

m4a1mustang 06-02-2015 11:24 AM

FRS is cool if you never had to do anything requiring acceleration.

I am regularly challenged by PT Cruisers. It is true and I cannot figure it out.

while we do make fun of the brz/frs, i wouldnt mind having a brz for dd. i dont need the power of the Z going slow in traffic.

:iagree: It's surprisingly spacious and very fun to drive if you get it on some back roads. I would never put real tires on the car because I feel like it would ruin the experience.

The whole point of that car is having the limits set VERY low with limited grip, but very fun and controllable with good balance. Once you start putting sticky tires on them they are ruined.
