dont get me wrong, i love my Z, but a BRZ with a v8 motor just sounds like a better drivers car, kind of like the monster miata but without the miata

Yeah I don't blame ya. I would never own a BRZ as is just because 180 HP doesn't appeal to me in the slightest bit, but could you imagine that car with an LS2 and a procharger? Would probably get 40 MPG too.

same, i like the idea behind the toyobaru twins but imo it really needed a turbo, 180hp and 200tq was good back in the 90's but now its severely under powered

if the car had like 270hp and 250tq, i probably would have bought the car

i would love to see this car either procharged or kenne bell supercharged

imagine all that supercharger whine and V8 roar coming from a car like that, now that is sex on wheels

Kinda cool, might also completely **** up the balance of the car which was its main selling point.

I was wondering that as well. Does anyone know what a 2.0 Boxer weighs? Quick google search didn't find much. The LSX platform is surprisingly light..

The intake isn't connected to a filter... Does this thing even function?

I'd say it would weigh roughly twice as much as the current boxer engine. Another problem is that the LS engines aren't horizontally opposed, so you will lose the super low center of gravity.

It's definitely not running yet, but it looks like they've made it through the difficult parts.

The EJ-22 weighs 250 lbs and an LS1 weighs 385. You could probably make up for the center of gravity by getting rid of the 3 inches of wheel gap those cars have.

It better just to buy a fast car than to speed $$$ on trying to make one fast.

The GTR out of the gate is a monster. To me turbos are the only way to go in performance cars. Easy to upgrade easy to replace and almost instant power/torque.

Next car has to be turbo again.

Pretty much. If a car isn't fast enough for you "stock", you will spend probably as much as the car's initial price again for every 100% increase over factory you want, and 180hp leaves a lot of room for 100%'s.

*This is to maintain balance, reliability, drive-ability, traction, etc. etc. etc.

Speed AND quality is so silly expensive.

It's not just about owning a fast car... its the novelty, project, experience, etc... if you don't understand this, you never will.
