How'd the fuel economy work out for you? The spokesman was quick to point out that the new catalyst would help meet current/future Euro regs, but where Europe focuses on emissions, US policies are ramping up to focus primarily on mpg. Soooo, open-ended question... will Mazda offer the RX for US consumption, knowing the rest of its lineup will have to pick up the slack?

S.
With a variety of diesel engine options coming from Mazda soon, I don't think the fleet average MPG will be a problem. Even disregarding that, Mazda knows any new rotary engine has to be drastically better then the RX-8 in the MPG department anyway.

It's the supposed price tag they are talking about that worries me. I don't think people in the US will pay a premium price for a Mazda, especially when you look at the bang for the buck you get with cars like the Mustang.
