It's a nice try by Toyota and Subi. Once all the fanboi hype dies off this is just an above average offering with RWD.
I agree with others that Japanese car companies tend to flock to similar competitive offerings so lets hope we see a small Nissan with 1.6 turbo soon. Mazda announced long ago it was revamping MX5 platform so we should see something from them too. Too bad they will all be ladies and small men's cars. Us over 6'3" foot dudes don't fit well in most of these small Japanese sports cars.
