Crap. New Windshield time :(

I am using OEM glass and spoke with the Safelite manager. He and a tech of 10+ years experience who has worked on 350/370Z's before will be doing the job.

This is why I don't like Safelite you have go thru alott of b/s just to get your windshield put in.

Other co. would have done it right the first time, what a bunch of slack fvckers we have in our country.

I ran across and interesting article that explains the differences between Dealer glass, OEM glass, OEE glass and aftermarket glass. I am not endorsing this company that posts the differences but the page is quite informative Auto Glass Article.

Apparently the highest quality are Dealer and OEM glass (but there are some specific differences as the article explains). After that there is OEE glass (which is what safelight and other places may provide). And then the lowest quality is usually aftermarket glass.

It's not much bs to go request a tech and inspect a facility. I hope they do a good job, but so far if anyone can, they seem like the people. Gave me the managers cell number and I called him, was told to even though its his day off. He was polite and informative.

The glass is oem from Japan, and the manager told me that the type of bead they apply is of oem shape and size vs. The "round" bead some other shops draw. So far it sounds good.

If your getting oem glass great, the glass has alignment tabs on all 4 corners ,and the one's at the top actually go right into the pinch weld to set the exact height and depth so the windshield moulding sits perfect at the top by the roof.
On the bottom their are 2 tabs so when he puts the cowl back on it lines up where it should.

If it has all these tabs on it a blind monkey with boxing gloves on @ night couldn't Fvck this up.

Good luck

It's at Nissan now. Does even oem replacement glass have these, or just oem installed at the factory?

On the 370 just oem glass ,factory or bought at the dealer as long as it is oem.

It's definitely oem Nissan. I went myself to the dealer to verify that it was oem. They confirmed that it was ordered through them and was. So I can for sure count on it having tabs?

Putting the bead on is easy it is determined by the cut on the nozzle once cut it puts the same bead on every car and the alignment tab make it idiot proof.
