I guess if you mean the S2K is "serious" as in that it's a "serious" machine sure but that's not at all what I was talking about. I obviously stated the S2K is amongst the most fun cars to DRIVE not that the car it self is somehow "fun".

We really like them and might have them powdercoated. I've seen them done in a light gold or darker bronze and they look really good.

For now, though, the car is just going to get some Star Specs and we'll figure everything else out later.

Star specs are great tires for that car!

What do you think of this color?

I'm a "green" guy but I'm not sure if that's a green I can live with.

I don't like bright greens. I'd prefer a darker one, like Dark Highland Green or some British Racing Green. :yum:

Lemers 03-07-2012 07:15 PM

Me too. I'm still swaying toward the dark blue mustangs.

Alright, looking at some stereo options for the S2K. I am just planning on replacing the HU and speakers so I can actually hear and have some decent quality sound. Other than that I don't care all that much. :icon17:

I like mid to darker greens muhself.

Lemers 03-09-2012 07:43 AM

The Bullitt green would have been great.

FromG2Z 03-09-2012 03:04 PM

Steve, so you actually LISTEN to your radio/speakers in any of your cars? I find myself turning on that thing maybe 1x or 2x a year. I am too busy rolling the windows down and listening to the engine/exhaust :)

I figured it'd be nice to hear the S2k rev up too??? I'd just save the dough and put it in to more parts for the stang or S2k.

Speaking of parts, btw, I got Hoen xenonsmatches for the fogs up front. Can't wait to install them.

275/35 Michelin Pilot Super Sports, Koni Yellows, Steeda HD strut mounts, Steeda Sport springs, and Fays2 watts link are on. Holy crap.

It's not slammed, so it's still usable here in NOVA. And I have good working travel. Just the way I like it.

Watts link is set to the center position (neutral on roll steer) and my Konis are set to +1 from full soft front and rear. I will experiment with some other settings as we go but I doubt I'll run more than 1.5 turns on the street.

I'm also running -1.5 degrees of camber left and right up front.

Handling... well it was great before but it's truly incredible now. The Pilot Super Sports have incredible grip relative to the PZeros (and I'm 275 all around now instead of 255) so it just grips. The suspension is firm and planted. Very compliant. Rough surfaces or smooth it doesn't really matter at all.

Braking is great now as well since I've got so much more rear control with the new dampers... the *** end doesn't jump up in the air like it did before. The car stays nice and flat.

FromG2Z & Red__Zed, I highly recommend the Koni Yellows. They are a big step up from the factory Tokicos, especially the rears (which are the weak point on the car). Watts link is not really necessary if you are OK with panhard setup. The dampers are far more important... they get the suspension where it needs to be. Anything beyond that is just an added benefit.

m4a1mustang 03-15-2012 08:09 AM

Another thought is forward bite. One of the benefits of the watts link over a panhard setup is putting power down on corner exit. Coupled with the dampers and sticky PSS, I can get to near WOT coming out of a tight corner in 2nd gear and maintain grip. It just digs in and goes. Previously I'd have been feathering the throttle to keep the rear end in line and tires in the pavement.

Needless to say I am very happy with the setup. Can't wait to get down to ZDayZ and run the Dragon with the crew.

Good lord, I can't imagine being able to put the hammer down and gripping....

I'll have to check it out and adjust the budget :ugh2:

First off.... no dyno chart

second, needs to be 3 inches lower, -4.5* camber, and lose that extra tire, 275s wtf? throw some 225's on there to get some nice stretch.

oh yea and roll and pull the fenders and add 35mm spacers

m4a1mustang 03-15-2012 10:09 AM

My only regret... is not going hellaflush.

I can't wait either man. I've been anxiously awaiting the FI TT kit... can't wait to see what Tony does with your ride.

TerribleONE 03-15-2012 10:55 AM

I would guess in the next few week we should at least have some teaser shots together. Anyway, I wont highjack your thread. Whats next for the stang? I have to admit when I drove my friends I was very pleasantly surprised!

No worries man.

Next up... not really sure. I need better brake pads ahead of ZDayZ (currently running Hawk HPS) but aside from that I have no immediate needs or wants. Except for more seat time with the car and fine tuning the suspension.

The real focus now is on the S2000 which needs some minor things like tires and brakes. And terrrbooooooooooooooooo. Nah, no turbo. Gotta be a good boy. :D

theDreamer 03-15-2012 10:58 AM

Turbo whistler then???????????
Make that WOOO WHOOOOO sound.

TerribleONE 03-15-2012 11:00 AM

thats what we all say.. When I got my Z I said no boost for a year until I could get all my other mods out of the way and I had a couple projects for the truck I wanted to complete.. that didnt last long! I think I have only put 3-400 miles on my car since I bought it in december before giving it to Tony! :shakes head: Does the mustang feel as confident in the corners, or do you have to feel a little more on the edge to carry the same speed through the twisties?

I said no mods until after one year, that lasted like 6 weeks and less than a year later I was boosted. :driving:

Lots of confidence (driver dependent), but yes, the Mustang is more on edge. The Z is more point and shoot with understeer to keep most everyone safe. The Mustang is more neutral and rotates a lot easier, so you need to be comfortable handling a car that likes to rotate pretty freely. Stock for stock they would carry roughly the same speed but just went about doing it a little differently.

With the new suspension it's a completely different animal, of course. MUCH faster.
