I think the radical design is an attempt to market to younger buyers. The perception is always that vettes are old man cars. I hope they attract younger buyers without alienating the loyal older purists. After all, it's still a fast, dirty, sexy sports/muscle car

Depends on light. Red can be difficult to photograph.

Yeah, in person I am sure I would like it. The black Stingray on the Chevy website is crazy sexy!

Its torch red, it actually has a slight orange tint to it. I prefer the victory red they used from 05-10. Torch was on the C5, they did one 2005 that color as a test run and said it didn't work for the C6, so they switched to victory, but in 2011, they went back to torch.

Not a huge fan of the rear, but will have to see it in person. it seems like a great deal and great car, though, if the interior is nice. I don't like GM in general, but this car might tempt me in the future if I can afford it, especially if they refresh/change the taillights. But we'll see what the next Z looks like as well and how it's priced.

Yeah, despite what Chevrolet unveils and how they impress, I wouldn't underestimate the Japanese when engineering + designing a new car.

you say that but..

all honda's = bleh
acura's = ugly
toyota's = bland
lexus's = ugly
The new Nissan's arent boring or bland, but they arent exactly striking either. So far what we have seen from Infinity is scary.

Plus the new Infiniti's have no new powerplants.. bleh.

I didn't like the rear in pics either, but when I saw it in the Jay Leno video it looked pretty nice.

You know whats awesome about Camaro SS, Corvette and 5.0 mustangs?

If you cant buy them just yet or just don't want to? You can rent them @ Hertz & Avis. On special, a corvette for a whole weekend is $550 ( $400 a day when not on special). Big savings and you can beat up the car. lol

Not bad if you're going to put some time behind the wheel. I do it a few times a year with vettes and camaros.

I remember seeing on Corvette Forum a few years ago a video someone made where they rented a Hertz edition Vette and put nitrous on it and went to the drag strip, then took it off and returned it.

I also once met a guy at autocross who rented a miata every autocross weekend instead of using his own car.

I've taken rentals to the track... I never put nitrous on them though. lol. thats crazy.
