I had the Z for 8 months, in that time frame i had 2 hit and runs on it. First one some bitch was talking on her phone and took a corner to wide in a parking lot and hit me, then took off. I caught her but the cops didnt want to do anything. Second time i came out from the mall and someone hit the rear bumper and left quarter panel. The car wasnt what i needed at the time. Couldnt haul my army gear at all, only two seats...just not what i needed. I bought the car on a whim and really got screwed on the price. If i kept it for the full finance plan i would have been paying $73,000 for that thing.

Sold it, got my SRT-10 Ram, loved it. But with the gas prices increasing across canada, the transmission starting to slip and it being automatic (boring as hell) and not being able to take it on the track, i wanted something else. Gave the Evo-X a test drive and fell in love. Decided i wanted the GSR 5-speed manual and havent regretted it all. Went through a **** load of issues with the dealership because they tried to steal $480 from me, then they claimed i tried to hide the issue with the transmission and it cost them $8000 to repair which was bs cuz the dodge dealership quoted me $1350 to have it fixed. All it needed was a master rebuild kit that was $550 which replaces the clutch bands and a few other things.

Took the car to the drag strip the night i got it and ran a 13.5 right off the bat. Did a hpde day a week later and loved it. Then i got deployed here to afghanistan and was planning on doing bolt-ons and only spending $4000. A group buy on the new ball bearing turbos came up and...well that plan went to hell...lol. I dont regret it all. I went from a 07 Cobalt SS Supercharged - 09 370z - 05 SRT-10 RAM QC - 2011 EvoX GSR. I got nothing against the Z, but i wish i would have went from the cobalt to the evo and somehow been able to afford the srt-10, i wish i still had that along with the evo....bad *** truck. Loved that truck

So a quick update.

I'm in Cyprus right now for my decompression from my tour. I'll be home the day after tomorrow, although back home they just got a bunch of snow dumped on them so i dont know if ill be driving the car at all or work on it until the snow melts since i only got summer tires on the car right now.

So my FP Red turbo, gauge pillar and -8psi spring for the tial bov arrived.

And just for something different. Here is everyone on the C17 globemaster on our way to Cyprus...gotta love military flights and being able to lay on the floor to get some shut eye.

Cyprus is high on my list of places I want to visit. Nicosia is absolutely beautiful.

Snakes709 02-25-2012 11:27 PM

Yea i defently want to come here. So many things to do and 3 days here isnt long enough.

Snakes709 03-01-2012 08:23 AM

Another update. Due to the weather, the boltons have been getting installed pretty slowly. I landed back in Canada at 1:30am, got home by 4am and said **** it, i wasnt going to sleep. Decided to work on the car later that day (bad mistake with being up for about 30+ hours) I did the TWM short throw shifter and cage replacement. All was going great until i tried to align the knob up. I ended up ******* the adjustment screw up...its installed but the pattern is 90* sideways. The base bushings where the only bushings i installed at this time, ill do the cable ones on saturday. I still got the notchy feeling but the throws are alot more solid and shorter.

http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_1999.jpg

http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_2000.jpg

Next i installed the DSG dual pillar. Everything is pretty straight forward but due to the modification i had to do to my dash in order to get the wires through with the rexpeed pillar...(had to dremel a notch in the dash) there is a nice gap. And for some reason that side piece of the dash doesnt want to go in right. This has nothing to do with the DSG pillar...its just my car being gay.

http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_2001.jpg

http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_2004.jpg

Since i was working in a parking lot with snow and -10*C weather, i didnt take my front bumper off, so i installed the AMS UICP and SRI Intake....ill do the CAI adaptor on saturday. Boy do i love the sound of the intake...lol.
Also last night i installed my tomei expreme exhaust and perrin rear sway bar and rear endlinks. I didnt get any pictures but i will on saturday. Gotta fix up a few things with the exhaust, for some reason its pushed up against the passenger side of exhaust/drive shaft well.

Brazilbro 03-01-2012 11:42 PM

:driving: looks good! I'm resisting the urge to buy a new turbo with my tax refund that I just got.. Have you seen the new 2.4L AMS block :yum: I'm thinking that with a FP Black and E85 for my winter 2012 project. :excited:

Snakes709 03-02-2012 02:39 PM

you defently should..lol.

I been fighting with my car the last day or so. Last night i tried to install the CAI section but it wouldnt fit, also had issues putting the filter on the pipe for the SRi version. Talked to the vendor that sold it to me and he informed me that AMS made a bad batch that had fitment issues. They are sending me a new kit and ill send this one back when the parts arrive.

Also i thought my MAF sensor went but come to fight out im just spiking at 30psi...lol. Just abit over boost, haha. Heres a couple pictures of the intercooler and lower intercooler pipe w/ tial bov from last night.

i would dig it more if it fit correctly... lol.

Snakes709 03-03-2012 04:47 PM

So i got the cold air section on the intake, headlights, wing and HID's all installed today.

Damn, I like the CAI. I might have to upgrade mine.

Snakes709 03-06-2012 10:29 AM

Yea it was a bitch to get in. I talked to the vendor that sold me it and he contacted AMS about the fitment issues i was having. AMS admitted to sending out a batch with fitment issues and are sending me a brand new intake kit since the lower pipe on the intake and filter are messed up.

cow 03-06-2012 10:31 AM

It's awesome to hear AMS is willing to cover their mess-ups. That makes me want to buy their parts if I mod my car.

Snakes709 03-09-2012 07:38 PM

Installed the AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator and Walbro 255lph pump. I drilled the hole out to 5/65th...fuel pressure was pretty much right on, only had to make a minor adjustment with the regulator.

Snakes709 03-14-2012 09:55 PM

So just a little update. The turbo will be going in this weekend and the tuning/data logging will begin. I decided to install my grimspeed 3-port boost solenoid and opend up evoscan and set my WGDC to 0, which only allows me to boost to 20psi. At least i dont have to worry about over boosting and hitting 30psi. I went was going to data log the other night but somehow i bricked my ecu. Got my buddy to come over and "bench", the car works fine now. I was ******** bricks when the car wouldnt start..lol.

Snakes709 03-17-2012 09:00 PM

Last night i installed the FIC 1100cc injectors and clipse's base tune. Today me and Pounder installed the FP Red. Took as just over 6 hours to do. I was doing it at the auto club shop on the base and they closed at 4 so the last 30mins we were cutting corners so i didnt have to leave the car over night. I got home and finished most of the work. All that i have to do is readjust the downpipe because we cant get 2 bolts into the o2 housing because of the gasket being off by like 1mm. I also have to bolt in the 1 bolt that holds the compressor on the bottom.

Obviously i havent felt any difference because im not going into boost but you can defently hear the turbo spool alot louder then the stock turbo. Heres two pictures from today. Sorry for the quality, they are from my cell.

Snakes709 03-24-2012 06:09 PM

Just the quick update.

We started the tuning and by we i mean my tuner and me just doing the data log. After a few days he couldnt get the scaling right for the injectors because the intake was causing things to screw up. So i put the stock injectors back in for now and we almost got the maf scaling done. Heres a quick video of the sound of the turbo spooling up. (the high pitched whistle)

http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p.../th_sound3.jpg

TerribleONE 03-24-2012 09:44 PM

sounds kick ***!!

Snakes709 03-25-2012 11:59 AM

Yea it will sound even better when its fully tuned. Once i put the 3port soldnoid on (before all the tuning started) I set my Wastegate duty cycle tables to 0 so i wont over boost. Ever since then the sound of the turbo and intake have been really quiet. I did another data log today, my tuner said we are almost done the MAF scaling and might be able to get the injectors back in today, depending how the next log or two goes.

Snakes709 03-31-2012 07:41 PM

AMS SS Brake lines and Motul 600 fluid went in today. Defently a huge difference in the brake peddle..i love it. We are still working on my WOT tuning, im at 336awhp right now...another 100hp to go..lol.

Snake, what engine oil are you using?

Snakes709 04-02-2012 06:29 PM

Royal Purple 5W30 Synthetic. Still got alot of tuning to do but the car is currently at 355hp 336trq

cow 04-02-2012 08:59 PM

Word, thanks.

I'm kind of on the fence as to whether to use Royal Purple/ Castrol like I have been or go with some expensive **** like Motul considering most of my driving is done racing.

Snakes709 04-02-2012 09:08 PM

Yea i got no complaints with it. A few people in the Evo world hate royal purple and said they had it burn oil. I changed mine 2000km's ago, switched from oem (Mobile1) to RP and its at the same level, even with the new turbo. On top of that, the place i get the oil from, i get military discount :D

I also ran RP in my SRT-10 for about 20,000km and no complaints.

Snakes709 04-04-2012 07:10 PM

Just past the 400whp mark :D I made 401hp 363trq today...still got more tuning to do :D I tried my 2 step launch control. The stock clutch cant handle it. It can hold me but it heats up to a point where i wont grab when i shift to 2nd.

Snakes709 04-20-2012 01:36 PM

Heres the latest dyno results. Just a few more adjustments to make to smooth the boost and afr out. But its pretty much where i want it for power on the stock block.

http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...709/dyno-1.jpg

Also here is the Perrin Rear Sway bar and endlink. Never got a picture when i installed it and i was doing a few adjustments the other day so i snapped a picture.

And I have one more part coming. The other week we got a pretty nasty snow storm which somehow ripped off the oem plastic under panel. So i orderd the SSP Aluminum panel. Next friday is the opening night of drag racing but it might be raining. Saturday is the opening day of Time Attack racing and thats rain or shine so ill defently be putting the car to the test.

cow 04-21-2012 08:08 AM

Looks awesome, Snake. Definitely get videos at the Time Attack.

Snakes709 04-22-2012 11:03 AM

The little clutch that couldnt....

http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...s709/issue.jpg

clutch started slipping the other day. I'm ordering...

ACT heavy Duty 6 puck clutch kit
ACT Streetlite Flywheel
Magnus CMC

Until i get those installed, drag racing and time attack is on hold for me :( Sucks because i paid $160 for this weekends race and its non-refundable. I'm hoping someone will buy my spot from me.

Snakes709 04-26-2012 08:20 AM

My SSP Under Panel came in yesterday, Decided to order this since about 2 weeks ago a snow storm ripped my stock plastic one off.

Snakes709 04-28-2012 08:33 PM

So i went to the opening time attack event today. I had 2 goals...

1. Not crash or blow the car up
2. Have a lap time of 68.9 or quicker.

I completed both of my goals. My fastest lap was 67.9. I came in 2nd place in my class and 3rd place overall. In my run group was a 05 Viper with headers, midpipe, exhaust, tb and a tune. There was also a 09 Viper ACR and a Corvette, not sure of the year or mods on the vette. Although the Viper ACR had more of a street tire on so he went in the class below me and the 05 Viper with its mods moved to Race Class.

Heres how it broke down...

1st session = Passed the 05 Viper (yellow)
2nd Session = Passed the Corvette
3rd Session = Passed the 05 Viper again
4th Session = i skipped to eat
5th Session = Was about to pass the Viper ACR but got fuel starvation since i had just over 1/4 of a tank. (im planning on buying a anti surge fuel system)

Me = 67.9
05 Viper = 69.3
Viper ACR 69.5
Corvette = unknown (im waiting for the results to be posted on the forums and ill post a pic of it)

Heres 2 quick pictures. The blue evo is my buddy Sean. He was running slicks for the first time. Since he was taking it easy he only ran 67.1.
http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/track015.jpg

http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/track016.jpg

I'll upload videos as soon as they finish uploading. I'm trying to edit them to cut the size down.

Overall my car ran pretty good. Something is funky with the tune. My tuner keeps saying its my clutch slipping when i hit boost but anyone that goes for a drive in my car says its the tune. Other than that, i need new tires and brakes. Coming into turn 2 at 180-190kmh and slamming the brakes at full force just wasnt doing the job. I need something more aggressive and that wont feel so soft. My tires are pretty warn out already so i wasnt getting the best traction around the turns. I have a perrin rear sway bar set to the middle setting, im going to set it to full soft. I was getting to much oversteer for my liking.

I'm picking up a set of Enkie PF01's (18x9.5) next week from my buddy. Still deciding what rubber i want to put on it. As well as either ordering a new clutch set up or my brake setup.

Snakes709 05-02-2012 03:38 PM

Well i got a flat tire today coming off the base. It was pointless to get it repaired since the tires are bald. I decided to buy my friends Enkei PF01's 18X9.5 +20 and a set of Falken RT-615K tires....pricey little fuckers. It came to $2300 for the tires and install. I'll have pictures of them tonight or tomorrow.

Snakes709 05-03-2012 05:56 PM

So since my tire went flat yesterday i was able to pick up a set of PF01's from my buddy yesterday and then got Falken RT 615K's mounted on them (18X9.5 +20 and 265/35/R18's) They stick out a tiny bit but i can get use to that. I have rally armor so it shouldnt be flinging rocks/sand at my paint. I might get the re-finished and powder coated, just havent decided what color. Between the rims, tires and lugnuts that i bought. There is about approx 1.5lb increase on all 4 corners.

I'll be installing them saturday and then get an alignment on monday. Oh and did i mention, they were free! He switched to JRZ's so he said he had no need for them and gave them to me.

cow 05-03-2012 11:03 PM

Bad ***. I want some free ****!

Snakes709 06-11-2012 06:18 PM

So on June 4th, i placed a order for...

ACT HD 6 puck clutch kit
ACT Streetlite flywheel
AMS CMC
6psi spring for the TiAL QR bov (my 8psi is giving me abit of flutter/surge during partial throttle)
Varis front lip

I was told the front lip would be seperate from the order and ill get a tracking number when it ships. So i got a tracking number for what i was assuming was the rest of the parts. Although the UPS tracking info said it was only 14.6lbs. I knew that wasnt right so i contacted Sean from DSG and he said he will find out whats going on. Today UPS showed up with just the bov spring and flywheel. So after making many phone calls to UPS, DSG, ACT and DSG's distributor (rallysport direct) I found out that the CMC is being shipped from someplace else (hasnt shipped yet). ACT shipped the flywheel to Rallysport and then Rallysport shipped the flywheel to me. ACT for some reason didnt bother shipping the clutch.

So my plan was to install the clutch, flywheel and cmc this weekend coming up. Defently not happening. Which im pissed beyond belief. So heres a picture of the flywheel....
