My car's heavily modded too, outruns other Z's and most likely any Genesis on track, I can mash it around town all day long and I don't have any oil temp issues on or off track and blah blah blah... so?

The bottom line is that this is a Z forum. A car with a history (not to mention the best selling sport car in the US). The Genesis is really the FIRST worthy car that Hyundai has put out. I personally like the car but I wouldn't take it over a Z. Noway.

I bolded the parts that echo my feelings on this whole argument.

As a fan of the gen. I wanted to buy one pretty bad. I love underdogs!!! But when I drove it and did the research on the gen, the technology was doing a disservice to the gen rather than adding power. Its too restrictive and no one has been able to fully hack that ecu. The engine is no EVO engine even though they are based off the same thing. The 2.0 is weak. I'll take the pepsi challenge on a modded 2.0 anyday. And just so nguyen knows. 13.3 are manual numbers. (Which for a stock anything its good numbers)13.1 is stock for autos. Come see autos. With my K&N filters alone with mishimito intake hoses I'm seeing 13 flat. Once I'm FI'd I'm expecting low 11's. Gencoupe owners of the 2.0 WON'T MAKE THAT with this current motor. With an ECU tune on the Z revving it to 8000rpm. The 3.8 wouldn't have a chance either.

A modded gencoupe 2.0 beating a mostly stock or modded Z is like having a Nun in a whorehouse... in other words, IT AIN'T HAPPENING.

Off topic completely, but..... when I first glanced at the title of this thread, I thought it said "facelifted Genitals".

The comparison of Genesis coupe to 370z is like comparing Mustang v6 to 370z. The Gen Coupe is much bigger car. Gen Coupe Wheelbase is over 10 inches longer, Gen Coupe is over a foot longer, it is couple inches taller, it weighs more, it's wider, it's power to weight ratio is still far inferior to 370z, it has far less rigid chassis than z34 and suspension is no where close to capability of a Z34.

New facelift doesn't make ugly Hyundai styling any better to my eyes. It still looks like a wannabe sports GT car headed for bag of misfit toys. Nice car for soccer mom who is looking to spice up her image and not spend too much money doing so.

Test of time will be best indicator. Will Genesis Coupes from this decade be held onto by enthusiasts and restored to like new condition 20 years from now or will they head to crushers like all other Hyundais? I'm betting on crusher for that face lifted abomination.

I beat a Gen Coupe in Forza with a 370 and that's how I decided which car to buy.

I see, thanks. I'm still waiting for Nissan to convert the Z to direct injection. This seems to be the trend car makers are going, and more importantly it usually comes with a 25-30HP bump.

What is the z currently? No direct injection?

I could see an ultra-efficient + powerful & smaller displacement V6 in the next Z car. . .
