GTR maintenance scares me and used GTR maintenance scares me even more. It's a great car but highly precision

From what has been confirmed so far with the next gen is it will be 250 lbs lighter (minimum) and it will have direct injection and most likely IRS. So 3,350 lbs at maximum and somewhere around 450hp for the GT.

The V6 might be getting replaced with a turbo 4.

This 2013 GT500, though, is pretty damn interesting. I knew it'd be around 600 hp but wasn't expecting 650, and certainly wasn't expecting Ford to throw out the big "200." Hopefully they put out some 'Ring times to see how it compares to the ZL1.

If that is true, the Z would be in big trouble if Nissan doesn't do any updates by then. I would definitely look at the Mustang if that comes true.

No in this country it will be the volt from government motors and we will be on a waiting list for years to get one.

All five of those metrics can be initiated with a virtual drag racing start light, so Mustang drivers can hone their skills off the track.

As if street racing really needs to be encouraged.

having owned a couple of them in the past, the standard maintenance isn't bad at all, tires are the worst part imo. Love it or hate, that black box is what makes buying a used GTR not such a hit or miss event. Provided you have a good dealer and GTR mech (luckily I do) I can have them download and read me the logs so I'll know if it was ever run with VDC off (deal breaker) how many times launched etc.

If i get a used one, as new GTR prices are to rich for my blood now, it'll include a 7 year, 100K warrantee on it and that is one car that will stay almost completely stock.

The biggest "issue" would/will be the lifespan of the GR6 trans. They don't work on them, it's throw away and replace thru the dealer, at 20K a pop. However, were that to happen out of warrantee, I could have it rebuilt completely with stronger internals thru Sharif at Forged for instance, for around 12-15K and end up with a trans that could handle 800-1000hp if I went that route.

It is an amazing car and depending on how "frugal" I'm feeling when the time comes, I may end up owning another one again at some point down the line.

Ford was sneaky with the LCD track app, and in the press photos they included what I think are their "official" performance specs for the 5.0.

0-60 4.7
1/4 12.6 @ 117

Damn the 2013 GT500 looks sick and those power numbers

Loving the performance of these cars, and the looks are getting better with each refresh. Now it's just the interior that needs to be overhauled.

The GT is allowing the recaro upgrade for 2013

b1adesofcha0s 11-15-2011 10:11 AM

You know what I like best about the upgrade? :D

Previously only available on manual-equipped Mustangs, the Brembo Brake Package and the V-6 Performance Package are both now available on automatic-equipped Mustangs. Speaking of which, Ford has decided to include SelectShift with the Mustang's six-speed automatic transmission. Controlled by a button on the side of the new shifter, SelectShift will allow drivers of those Mustangs to manually control what gear the car is in, without the ECU attempting to override the driver's wishes.
Yeah that's right, fvck you Steve :icon17:
