You would have to do it through the dealer. It's a dealer installed option that you could lump in with the purchase price of the car.

You know Steve, makes me wonder... remember that day a couple months ago, when I asked you and Dan about possibly just buying the slightly used 2012 5.0 with 2k miles, but had no BBK pkg? Maybe I should I have bought that, then just had the dealer price out the install for the SC before I pick it up. Would have cost me same as new 5.0???

Okay, so where can you find the specs on the SC package?

I think from what I remember seeing, 550hp. Not sure if wheel or crank.

You shouldn't have done that because the Brembo package is mandatory, IMO, if you are buying a 5.0.

The stage 1 FRP SC gets 525 HP. The SC lists starting at $7199. To keep the warranty You will need a certified ford dealer to install the part. Here is how the warranty works

If installed at time of new vehicle purchase

36 months / 36k miles

If installed on used ford with less than 24k miles

12 months / 12 miles

Here's a question...

I know standard powertrain warranty is what, 5 years 60k? So say, I install the SC kit 1 year from now, I can understand 12 mos/12k miles for the SC kit itself, but what about if I blow the motor? That should still be covered under the 5 year/60k right? If not, that's BS.

Lemers 11-11-2011 03:42 PM

I haven't read anything on that so that's a question to ford

Lemers 11-11-2011 03:44 PM

Honestly the warrentys above a on the SC it's self and damage caused by the SC. So if the damage happens after than you don't have a warrenty.

If you're going to spend 55-60k you might want to consider an M3. That price point is creeping into its territory.

Two very different types of car/driving experience imo.

Even though I like the car fully loaded. I still want power over luxury

Me too. I used to be more luxury over power. Then I drove the Shelby. OMG. It's like a vegetarian saying he's satisfied with a soy burger. Then you let him taste a juicy Angus Beef Burger..... :p

Hey Lemers... 2013 GT500 details are out.

5.8L 650hp.

If I am reading this correctly the spec includes a top speed of 200 MPH.
