He can't get the BOSS. It's like the Nismo... you can't option it out with all of the nice stuff. Pretty basic on the inside.

FYI, my car is in the final Ford lot, off the train. Just waiting for trucks to pick it up. Should be anyday now. I hope this weekend or next week. Dan, Steve, will keep you posted!!!

Lemers, if you get the Shelby I'll take it for a spin and let you know if it is worth it. I promise to be completely unbiased and return it with four wheels on the car.

Lemers 11-11-2011 02:18 AM

If my wife doesn't even drive my Z. Why would I let you drive my Shelby?

Yeah...that just goes to show you the m3 is overpriced.

True on the 2012. Steve, I think the 2013 is available with options and creature comforts like HID's/nav, etc. I might be wrong. I also love the new color options.

Same with me. Although, I did offer, wife says no. She wants no part of it in case she scuffs it, scratches it... etc..... :D

:werd: Kindda like that A5 I test drove when I was debating which car to get. Talk about overpriced. Yeah it's sexy on the outside and inside... but man, talk about a boat. That thing drove terribly. And was slow. Our Z's and 5.0's cost HALF that and is 30times more fun to drive.

However, anyone who doubts a Shelby should just go drive one. I did, and almost bought one.

m4a1mustang 11-11-2011 08:33 AM

My boss has an A5. It's a sleek car, nice inside, and relatively practical for a coupe. It is definitely down on power, though. They are rated to around 215hp or so.

shadoquad 11-11-2011 08:34 AM

lol German cars overpriced?

Coming up in the news, water is reportedly wet, and THIS JUST IN - The sky is occasionally blue!

Lemers 11-11-2011 08:37 AM

A blue sky? Now thats just a myth. Everyone knows the sky is grey

Lemers, here's something else to entice you. Found these at Toys r Us the other day. Last one, in my color too, no less. Pretty sweet replica. Mirrors and antenna are rubber and flexible so they don't break :D

Saw the new A7 on the road on the road earlier this week. That thing was freaking sexy!

Yes most definitely. I have a room of all diecast models, etc... on display in a glass case/shelf. I love dusting them, cleaning them, and playing with them :) My son does too.

Besides, the box on this particular model was already pretty beat up too. So no way I was displaying that... lol.

Armonster 11-11-2011 11:46 AM

where can I find out more about this 5.0 + SC option, is it on the ford website? Can you build a car online with it added?

You would have to do it through the dealer. It's a dealer installed option that you could lump in with the purchase price of the car.

Armonster 11-11-2011 12:15 PM

Okay, so where can you find the specs on the SC package?

m4a1mustang 11-11-2011 12:22 PM

They should have details on the Ford Racing website since the parts are all FRPP.

You know Steve, makes me wonder... remember that day a couple months ago, when I asked you and Dan about possibly just buying the slightly used 2012 5.0 with 2k miles, but had no BBK pkg? Maybe I should I have bought that, then just had the dealer price out the install for the SC before I pick it up. Would have cost me same as new 5.0???

I think from what I remember seeing, 550hp. Not sure if wheel or crank.

You shouldn't have done that because the Brembo package is mandatory, IMO, if you are buying a 5.0.

The stage 1 FRP SC gets 525 HP. The SC lists starting at $7199. To keep the warranty You will need a certified ford dealer to install the part. Here is how the warranty works

If installed at time of new vehicle purchase

36 months / 36k miles

If installed on used ford with less than 24k miles

12 months / 12 miles

Here's a question...

I know standard powertrain warranty is what, 5 years 60k? So say, I install the SC kit 1 year from now, I can understand 12 mos/12k miles for the SC kit itself, but what about if I blow the motor? That should still be covered under the 5 year/60k right? If not, that's BS.

Lemers 11-11-2011 03:42 PM

I haven't read anything on that so that's a question to ford

Lemers 11-11-2011 03:44 PM

Honestly the warrentys above a on the SC it's self and damage caused by the SC. So if the damage happens after than you don't have a warrenty.

Two very different types of car/driving experience imo.

Even though I like the car fully loaded. I still want power over luxury

Me too. I used to be more luxury over power. Then I drove the Shelby. OMG. It's like a vegetarian saying he's satisfied with a soy burger. Then you let him taste a juicy Angus Beef Burger..... :p

Hey Lemers... 2013 GT500 details are out.

5.8L 650hp.

If I am reading this correctly the spec includes a top speed of 200 MPH.

So with the 2013 gt500 there isn't much talking "just pit a SC on the 5.0". At 650 HP that's a lot of engine build for the 5.0 to get 650 safely.
