It's just the "rally look". LOL!

So are any of you WRX/STi guys worried about the ringland issue?

semtex 10-28-2011 01:44 PM

I'm not. But I don't plan on any heavy modding either.

Red__Zed 10-28-2011 01:46 PM

Not worried at all. It's usually due to improper break in and abusing the car.

Those winter wheels look sweet. I need something better for winter.

Yeah, sorry guys, I should have been more specific. I always assume the hatch trim when talking about these cars.

From reading the forums it seems like occurences are most frequent with 2008 and much less in 2010 and 11. Not too worried. Seems to occuring in stock and modified and show no real correlation. I'm still proceeding with DP, CBE and Cobb AP Stg II.

Is it? I can't get a straight answer from anyone.

I've also heard something about data logging on the 2011s?

Oh? Didn't hear anything about that...

2012 arriving on lots...the base imprezas are ewwww in real life

nuTinmuch 10-29-2011 06:11 AM

Like I said, no idea if it is true or not. It might just be a rumor.

So, good friend of mine has torn down about 15-20 wrecked engines, talked to the drivers, etc. Every single one was redlined cold, etc. Several of them were taken out autocrossing straight off the lot and left pinging on the limiter. A couple of them followed the "easy" break in called for by the manual...

Not one of them did a proper break in....more to the point, he's only seen 1 11+ go down, and I've only heard about the 11s having problems from people on here whose "friends" have issues.

Tits, rally car. I was looking at those online the other day

djpathfinder 10-31-2011 08:28 AM

Pretty easy isn't it? I had trouble with lining up the bracket and one of the bottom holes on the right rear side, no matter what I did. I eventually used a dremel to enlarge the hole on the OEM plastic part...then the clip went in ok.
