Steel tubing is nice, but I would rather a more substantial frame in addition. If steel tubing alone were so great then a lot of high end cars are being built wrong. The reason they use steel tubing is one of cost, not design superiority.

Do you honestly believe that? High end cars are being built with carbon fiber and sheet metal because most high end customers don't want steel bars running across the cabin. High cost doesn't equal superiority. Ask any race team the strongest part of a racecar frame and they'll tell you its the roll cage. Don't get me wrong, modern canopy's can be built to be just as strong as steel tubing, Formula One yes, but not in a vette.
