You would think that Japanese cars would have a smooth, notch free transmission, being that they are typically the technological pioneers with cars, but the transmission in this thing will completely and utterly blow your mind, the throws on my 370 felt like driving an 18 wheeler compared to this one, there is zero hesitation at the neutral gate between gears, its almost a straight pull. The air conditioner in the 5.0 is ridiculous, the speed choices are low, medium and f'in gale force in this thing, i love it. It also has this thing called Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control, which are two completely seperate entities in this car, you can turn one or the other off and use "Sport mode", which basically allows you to get a little crazy and still keep some stability. It also has this security package option which basically adds tilt sensors and motion detection inside the cab, it blows my mind how much technology Ford included in this thing. Now I will say this, I miss the way my Z handled, the 5.0 feels like a boat in comparison, and I miss how easy it is to whip it around, im still not 100% confident in my stang yet. I'll miss my Z, but the 5.0 is absolutely AMAZING.

The 5.0 definitely feels bigger. But the integrated blind spot mirrors are a pretty sweet feature, I must say! I couldn't help but laugh when I noticed them... they are awesome.

And separating TC and stability control is awesome, too!

I didnt even know the car had the ability to do that until yesterday :rofl2:

You can turn one or the other on, turn one or the other off, or turn them both completely off, supposedly sport mode will allow you to shred the tires and keep your car in the straight line if it starts to get away from you, i can see how that would be beneficial at the drags. And yeah, the baby blind sport mirrors are the shiznit!

Great comparo of the new 5.0 and M3. I think I remember reading a while back that the blue oval folks benchmarked the M3's on trakc performance for the new GT, looks like they succeeded.

same 60 times and a better 1320 for 1/3 the price... seems a shrewd buy for anyone really.

You have got to love when a company proves that they can hit a performance mark at half the cost.

No worries. Your next car will come with paddle-shifters and a dual-clutch auto.

Go drive one and that will put it to rest. You'll know you either want it or you don't.

OK, to sum up you can buy an M3 ...or...a Mustang GT AND a 370Z.

:D

Another nice thing about the Mustang is that it can run on 91 or 87 octane, the engine auto adjusts and according to Ford, you go from 412 to something like 405 HP (not a bad penalty at all).
