i would get rid of my nismo for the supra but no money
i always though the supra resembled the 2015+ nismo but it actually has real power and a nice stock exhaust regardless i like my Z and will keep it till the wheels fall off |

I'd totally be a sucker for this. Dream C8 turned into dream C8 Z06, and no idea how long out that's gonna be, so could very well imagine I could save and throw money elsewhere.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqMbVcJx6TM *AND SOME VENTS ARE REAL. but lol they literally had to cut the door and made some super tight routing. I'm sure some air is better than none, but I have a hard time imagining that's really living up to a properly-engineered flow/cooling setup. (8:35) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zH0qzHdW9I |

I spent this past weekend participating in AZ NASA track days. Toyota had a both there and have partnered with NASA to showcase the Supra. Saturday was a media day for invited guests and Sunday they provided rides for those that were lucky enough to get signed up. I was number 1 on the list as I got to the track on Friday to off load my car.
I spent time speaking with one the reps and who also tracks the car. He let me set in the car and asked my about my impressions. I told him the car looks much better in person than in pictures and video. The cockpit is exceptional and driver inspiring. The visibility is as with most all sports cars. The front view is very good and the side mirrors are highly functional. The rearview view sucks! The car size is as described by some...a larger version of Toyota 86. I was only in the car for three laps and the first lap was a warm up lap as the tires were cold as was the track. The driver was a former IMSA and World Challenge driver. The car performs as per all the hype. It is fast and nimble. It is torquey and gets the power to the ground effectively. The car was very stable through all the twisty parts. The car I was in had upgraded brakes, rotors and tires. My final thoughts: The car performs as advertised and is the best of both worlds as a track car and daily driver. If you are over six foot you will need to watch your head getting in and out of the car. I am 6'1" and had difficulty getting into the car with my helmet on. I had to adjust the seat to lean back a bit to give me head clearance. I like the car but it does not excite me. I find it's styling as it seems soulless to me. Just my opinion as I know others love it. I think it is already on it's way to being the next s2000 but even more so to those who are not track rats and want a cheaper comfortable two seater.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1e3167704f.jpg Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |
Nice review above^^^ - I find driving a car will bring out distinct feelings not found as passenger or outside, not in the car observer. The woman is pushing me to test it when we can - together :) Im glad she likes cars!

Major holdbacks against my interest is there's still some inflation/mark-up, and I can just tell local Supra owners probably think they're cooler than they are (just like 86 owners once did). It's petty, I do get mindful of car communities. |
2020 Supra... first thoughts
It’s amazing how quickly the BMW Supra has become irrelevant and/or just OK. Since the Corvette C8 is coming, that means you can now get new discounted/slightly used C7’s for the price (or less) of a new Supra. I mean, there’s just no comparison. I’d take C7 over a Supra without even blinking.
Don’t know but seems to me that Toyota could’ve hit it out of the ballpark but all they did is made a better BRZ/86. Too little, too late IMHO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If Nissan can keep the price point on the Z to less than $50k and it have 400 hp they would be in the sweet spot.

40k would be ideal. |
