Jalopdik has a new review. The outward view of sports cars topic is already sickening. So many bytchmade dudes wanting sports cars but not wanting to deal with the angles and proportions of a sports car. Whatever you can't see? Adjust your effin mirrors so u can see it n STFU... Or a buy a effin Volkswagen n put your hair in a man bun strap on your purse n STFU. GEEZ!

You are not the man that this country wants, but what this country needs.

Ok so... Right when Toyota proved themselves with a great entry as serious sports car contenders...

They couldn't wait to release THEIR INNER PANSY and talk about the next supra being EV or autonomous!!!!

Now Nissan evaded that plan with the Z cuz an overwhelming 90% of Z enthusiasts said hell NO!!! But leave it to the overwhelming amount of Prius drivers to support such blasphemy!!!
I'm now Leary of Toyota and will 2nd question supporting the Supra, s oully based on future plans.

Nissan... Show Toyota how it's done.

420hp/420lbs tq w/DCT on a future Z with manual option. Let's go!!
The most shameful part. They're talking this mess b4 the public even drives this version. Smh.

Hybrid would offer the best performance.

The Supra is ugly AF. Looks like a 370Z driven through a nuclear waste dump. If Nissan does come out with a new Z after all, and it has a duckbill spoiler like the Supra, it would be a disgrace. The Supra interior looks like a regular BMW sedan- doesn't seem like a sports car interior at all. No manual transmission. Maintenance costs would be sky-high and Toyota dealers will not know how to work on what is basically a BMW.

Perhaps, but it would also cost you your balls.

I gave those up long ago. :icon17:

10:1, if there ever is a new Z, it will be at least in part electric. Toyota knows that they need to move in that direction as well.

At least a hybrid powertrain would let you keep going when the juice ran out. After all, the idea of a true sports car is to take long drives from A to A, with no reason other than to drive. Time spent stopped, recharging batteries is time wasted. But hauling around the heft of meaningful batteries runs counter to the definition of a sports car. Supra is too heavy in current form already. Probably all that BMW luxury!

Long live the petrol powered sports car. But realistically, probably not that long.

Makes you wonder if the turn signals work on these...

The new Supra continues its rave reviews, this time from Motortrend. 0-60 in 3.9 1/2 mile in 12.5 wow this car is going to be even faster with aftermarket performance parts. I would like to hear a full CBE on this beast.

Th e supra I s definitely not disappointing in terms of performance. I wish they invented their own interior though. It still looks like a preproduction.

My apologies if someone already posted this - but if it the Supra is beating out the M2 Competition along with the Cayman while being cheaper and assuming more reliable (Toyota quality), it will definitely put the Supra on the top of the list for me.

There is no Toyota quality here friend. It's a BMW Supra. And the king of cheap sports cars yet reliable with performance is dormant right now. I'll give you a hint, it's name ends with the last letter of the alphabet.

I’m sure it’s buried somewhere in this 20 page topic - but there is a video of the collaboration between BMW and Toyota. The reliability was definitely on the Toyota part and they made it a point to kick things back if it didn’t pass Toyo’s standards. I’m not disagreeing with you that the whole BMW and Toyota collab is a bit frustrating, lack of a manual option as well as the interior looks more BMW than Toyota; but it seems like it might be a real competitor within a decent price point. I would at least WANT (doubt anyone will be able to do it till you agree to price/financing) to test drive it to see if it’s all hype or if there is something. :driving:

ZCanadian 06-07-2019 04:29 AM

Crazy that they have wasted all they hype of the launch by not following it up with product. That cannot be planned. So are there quality problems, production issues, or what?

I went in search of one again yesterday. Nothing but blank stares from the dealership when I tried to get a drop date.

It seems that by the time someone actually spots this unicorn, the next big thing will take some of the wind out of Supra’s sails.
