I'll stick with manufacturer's HP specs. Different dyno's are notoriously bad to use for comparisons unless you have one of the very top echelon. So the HP output and power to weight between the two cars is identical.

HP doesn't get you to 60 anyway. TORQUE does. And that, as I said, is where the Supra has it all over the Z. It's my biggest disappointment with the 370Z.

Yes, I have a 2013 Z Sport 6MT. My wife drives it mostly. We had it at the track last Friday. Fun. With a better driver, it would probably get to within 3 or 4 seconds of my 4C, even though I have 93 fewer horses. Power isn't everything!

Your Camaro SS 1LE is, indeed, an amazing and under-appreciated car. I recommend it to a lot of people shopping, and they mostly forgot to look at them or don't know the car. It's definitely worth a look. But more important than "Starbucks"? Jury's out! ;-) LOL.

Right tq does.
Supra rated at 421lbs tq on a dyno. It doesn't matter which dyno you used. You're still over the rating. If it's by that particular dynos 56lbs OVER the brake tq. Not wheel torque. Any dyno will be at least 20lbs rq.

So you think your Z may possibly get to 3 or 4 seconds of your 4c? With a better driver? If you're in the Z or 2 better drivers... ??? I mean all it really takes is a quick dig on motor trend to see if your relative theory holds any weight.

Power isn't everything. But as of now. You're driving a 240hp car that's so light that your power to weight ratio is one of the best in class and you own a Z. Trade your Alfa for a toyobaru and see if you'll be making the same case... ??? Lol.

It's kinda dumb to make a butt dyno theory between your Z and Alfa with fake drivers. I guess that's a true canadian analysis... ??? Lol.

On the top gear track

370z pulled 127.50
Alfa 4c pulled 124.80.

So basically the Alfa was 3.2 seconds faster with 1000 lbs less weight and 110 less hp.

Pretty much what I am saying - I'm doing 1:16 on our track and fairly certain that with a better (stick) driver than me the stock Z could do 1:20 or close to. A raced prepped, stripped 350Z has turned 1:09 in time attack on the same layout and a Civic SI racecar is flirting with 1:12's (with much, much better drivers than me). Stock 2019 Civic with an exceptionally good driver is running 1:24 on stock brakes/rubber. I'm not aware of another 4C with a faster driver on this circuit (I guess I'll just have to become that guy, as I improve :-) ). If I were better with the clutch pedal, I might do the "Stig" thing and give you two lap times, but I'm not (on track), so I'll just let my wife continue to drive it. Happy wife, happy life!

Her lap times were ... well, lets just say not near 1:20. But it was her first time driving any car on track in a serious fashion.

All torque is, is a product of horsepower + gearing and a profile evidenced as area under the curve.

More torque allows taller gearing for equal output and a larger area under the curve.

We're just killing time until somebody here buys and reviews a Supra! :-)

Just lock yourself in the bathroom with an old NatGeo and a bottle of hand lotion. You'll get the same results.

If takes you one minute or it takes you 10 minutes. You still end up with sticky fingers.

Boy, this went downhill fast. :-(

Anyway, I went out in search of a Supra this afternoon (had to try a few used trucks for the fleet at work - was my excuse to get out). None to be found in my part of the world. Maybe someday...

When you beat a thread to death. It's going to happen at some point. This thread needed it.

When this new BMW Supra and BMW Z4 comes comes out I'll be test driving one. I actually like the look of them. I used to own a E92 M3 so this car definitely won't disappoint in the driving fun factor.
