Careful what you ask for... :-)

I'm curious about the MX-5 RF, too. Sounds like a neat package. But you only have to drive 5 minutes in the Alfa to know if it is the car for you. It's beautiful, noisy, raw, unapologetic, and totally bonkers! And I love it to bits.

The 4c. A testament to what a sports car is from a mechanical pointing view. No other car under $100,000 compares.

I agree. But not many buyers really WANT a true sports car. They think they do, but wind up lamenting the lack of noise deadening (driving deep in the carbon tub is like living in John Bonham's drum set), insufficient cupholders (there is exactly one in the car) or missing sat nav/infotainment/backup camera. So, in the end they buy a GT car instead. And that is why most "drivers' cars" have evolved into GT's (Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche included, MB, Audi, BMW really never were except for some very specialized models).

And that is why dentists drive 911's.

I am starting to realize that's why DH bought me the lovely and wonderful Z.
To keep my paws miles away from his Alfa.

It's OK...I think I will like the Z just fine.

I will say that riding shotgun in the Alfa is a blast. It's not quiet, kind, or comfy...and the radio is crap...and your bum is about an inch off the road,BUT the sound of those pops and snarls is quite nice and it slams your head back quite sharply when you accelerate but it hugs the corners so I'm not terrified. The Z is much higher up...it is practically an SUV compared with Alfie.

Alfie sounds angry even when passing a Prius. Must be an Italian thing.

And the nice thing is that everyone gives it a high five, from grandmothers to little kids. It puts a smile on everyone's face...OK except the Prius driver.

Doesn't have a make up mirror which is a major bummer for the female driver. That's the only downside for me.

Oh and there is enough room in the luggage department for a severed head. That is apparently THE Alfa joke. Everyone mentions the severed head storage ability. :-) Another Italian thing I guess.

All this talk and reviews of the 4C makes me want to...buy a Porsche 914 and drop an interesting engine into it!

You're so right, cuz when our Z's dropped, we had a bunch of fruity pants pansies here crying about NVH n road noise. It was seriously pathetic. All I really wanted from our Z's was a slightly more aggressive suspension, a much better base radio considering the entry price.... then finally.... The engine should've sounded like the VQ35HR and we needed a louder exhaust note.

I could care less about infotainment, power seats, NVH well, it could've been slightly better but not enough to trade out like most did. Lol.

You can tell that people want sports cars in name only. Nissan already went this route in terms of the Z34 and the populous complained it wasn't GT enough. Even with the Q60 there to please those lifeless drones they still want a GT Z. I wish those kind of people will wake up in the morning and not wake up. They disgust me.
People buy a Z which is a SPORTS car and want it to be a mustang with 2 seats. Go pester Ford to build you that shyt. Don't come to Nissan to whine like a Lil bytch cuz we are at the right price point for you.

I pray the Z35 is a 400HP 240z incarnate, with retained hydraulic steering, handbrake, an improved vdc that will NEVER interfere a re-engineered lsd so it can lock up better. Sometimes we can still peg leg under certain conditions. I want it to be light, loud and annoying. I want stock BOV's that'll scare little children and a sport exhaust. THAT sounds like fun to me. And the people that don't agree. I hope they keep buying Mustang's and BMW's. They make what the cry babies want.

If Nissan would've catered to one market, the original Z market with the Z34, they would've sold like hot cakes. Auto paddle shifts or DCT are the only extra option these cars need. I wish they sell the next Z in the same style package as the GTR. one stereo, one set of seating options.

You want raw? Buy a Nismo.

Nissan doesn't need to cater to GT fags

My Integra Type R was a true sports car. Less sound deadening and seam welded body. Handbuilt and polished motor. I wonder if it's still alive out there. 1998 Type R number 313.

To me a true sports car is RWD. But the integra was as good as it gets in FWD. I'll give it that much. The balance was pretty sick for the wheels turning upfront.

When I see what nice ones go for these days, unmolested, for even more than what they cost in 1998....I cringe and wish I had it back. It had Brembo brakes, longer control arms with stiffer bushings all around, mechanical LSD, true leather suede inserts on the seats, seam welded body, handbuilt and polished motor, free flow exhaust...Honda really knew how to make special cars back then, bikes too as I loved my RC-51. Sad I got rid of that one too, with the Sato exhaust and chain driven cams....RRRRR sounded great even if it was slow. Both really felt special.

I bought a Nismo, it's lap of luxury compared to my 500 Abarth - which also gets bad press for dated interior, lack of modern gizmos, and the harsh / loud ride... I mean, the Abarth's dash looks like it was pulled from the parts bin of the 1960's Russian space program.

But good god is it a riot to drive... It's basically a machine that vaporizes tires to create silly grins.

But that's so very Italian.

Even the Alfa Giulia QF, which is simply about as bonkers as you can get and still have four doors, gets bad press for - you guessed it - dated interior, lack of modern gizmos, and the harsh / loud ride...
